Rickinghall racer John Dickson powered to a fortunate victory in the opening HRVA race and followed it up later with third place in the Swinging 60’s race at Snetterton on Saturday.
The local racer had to wait until the final lap for pole man Andy Wolfe to falter before victory was secured in his Chevrolet Corvette having chased after the similar car of the long time leader.
Later on, teamed with Cheng Lim, the pair secured third place as Luke Wos, in a similar Chevrolet Corvette, powered to victory having been third in the earlier race.
In Sunday’s HRVA race the Aston Martin V8 of Chris Scragg had to over come John Wilson’s MGB before running out the winner by half a lap.
A last lap problem also affected Nigel Tongue and robbed him of victory in the Tin Tops race which went instead to the local racers Mark Livens/Carey Lewis.
The Lotus Esprit of Nick Olson was nearly caught by the Cann brothers, Rikki and Joe, in the Future Classics but having led throughout was not easily displaced by the mighty Aston Martin V8.
In the Deutsche Marque race Phillip Perryman/John Young teamed up again and this time were victorious while Keith Ahlers had little trouble winning the Morgan Challenge race.
In the Ferrari Open races Gary Eastwood triumphed both times while in the Classic encounters Danny Winstanley and James Cartwright shared the honours while King’s Lynn’s Peter Everingham raced to third and fourth in class.
David Howard won both Jaguar Saloon race holding off James Ramm in the first and Patrick Doyle in race two.
Christian Pittard hunted down long time Magnificent Sevens leader James Sharrock to snatch the lead four laps from the finish while North Walsham’s Andrew O’Connell was a class winner in tenth place.
A magnificent solo goal by midfielder Jonny Howson clinched a notable victory for Norwich City as they wrapped up their season by beating Premier League runners-up Manchester City on their own ground.
