Following hot on the heels of its Halloween Carnival Night, the stock car and banger racing action at King’s Lynn’s Norfolk Arena is the Fireworks Spectacular on Saturday (6pm).

Two-Litre Saloon Stock Cars will offer an unrivalled racing spectacle, ably backed up by the comical antics of Del Boy-style three-wheeled Reliant Robins and the sideways action of rear-wheel drive Bangers, all complemented by the venue’s biggest ever fireworks display.

Norwich driver Chris Medler will aim to provide the on-track fireworks in the Bangers, piloting a classic Ford Capri, as he seeks to return to the top of the big-money Entertainers League standings. Saxmundham’s Nat Cohn, who won the Two-Litre Banger King of the Fens title at the track four weeks ago, will also be in action, at the wheel of a Vauxhall Carlton.

The big Saloon Stock Cars have their final outing of the season at the Saddlebow Road venue, which makes it the track championship decider.

World champion David Aldous (Diss) looks set to secure his fifth consecutive crown, but Willie Skoyles Jr (Heacham) will be aiming to clinch the runners-up position in what is the most competitive track championship in the country. Daniel Parker (Norwich) and Michael Allard (Great Yarmouth) also hope to secure top-six positions.

Racing will commence with the track’s White & Yellow Grade Series final for the rising stars and lesser lights of the sport.

The Reliant Robins are likely to spend almost as much time on their roofs as on all three wheels, with their disintegrating fibreglass bodywork only adding to the chaos that the drivers of these little cars thrive on.

Last weekend’s racing saw an enormous field of Unlimited Bangers in action, including five hearses which were in keeping with the Halloween theme. Lee Clarke (Bungay) and Shayn Winsor (Wymondham) both took wins.
