Skiers in Norfolk took part in a special celebration to mark the opening of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
A torch-lit descent took place at Norfolk Snowsports Club, in Trowse, near Norwich, on Saturday evening.
Rachel Potter, marketing coordinator for Norfolk Snowsports Club, said there were about 150 people at the event and she described the atmosphere as “electric.”
“We wanted to get people excited about the Winter Olympics,” she said.
“On the slope during the descent we had glow sticks by the side of the slope and each person descending had a glow stick which lit their way down the slope.
“Each of our groups within the club came down and did a different activity, for example the Masters Group did a human slalom and our Adaptive Group did a snake display.”
The other groups that took part included Junior Club, Wannabe Racers, Race Team, Ladies Club, Freestyle, Board and the Executive Committee.
