Sprowston Ladies went top of Division One of the Norfolk Women’s & Girls’ Football League with a 2-0 win at North Walsham Ladies.

The victory saw them leapfrog Bungay Town Ladies, who were without a game, as Sprowston went three points clear at the summit although their rivals do have a game in hand. Sunday’s victory came courtesy of a double from Victoria Leyer.

Sprowston will be looking to extend their three-point lead at the top of the table this weekend when they entertain Wymondham Town Ladies Reserves whilst Bungay are without a game.

Stalham Town Ladies moved up to third in the only other game in the top division as they ran out 3-0 winners at bottom-placed Long Stratton Ladies.

Stalham are also not in action this weekend whilst Long Stratton head to Thorpe United still looking for their first win of the campaign.

In Division Two Beccles Town Ladies kept up the pressure at the top of the table with a 1-0 win at Kirkley & Pakefield Ladies.

Beccles moved to within three points of leaders FC Sprowston, who were without a game, thanks to Lucy Robbens’ winner.

They will be hoping to pile the pressure on at the top this weekend when they entertain Tavern Ladies, who currently sit third in the table. FC Sprowston are at home to Freethorpe Ladies, who have picked up three wins from 11 games so far this season.

Bure Valley Wildcats Ladies won a nine-goal thriller against Gorleston Rangers Ladies, running out 6-3 winners away from home.

The victory moved Bure Valley up to fourth in the table as they picked up their fourth win of the campaign. Kiera Brown grabbed a hat-trick for the visitors whilst Charlie Cooper got a couple of goals. Carrie Last was also on the scoresheet for Wildcats whilst Chloe Bailey, Abigail Bell and Lauren Dennis were on target for Rangers.

Bure Valley will be hoping to build on the victory this weekend when they take on Kirkley & Pakefield Ladies, who are just a point behind them.

Gorleston Rangers Ladies will be confident of getting back to winning ways when they travel to bottom placed Costessey Sports Ladies, who are yet to win a game this season.
