Butcher, 14, a Norwich School pupil, finished sixth overall in last year’s girls’ super giant slalom, before winning the Telford Cup at the British Inter Schools Championships last May.

The Norfolk Ski Club ace was awarded the trophy for being the fastest overall girl ski racer in the competition after winning the slalom and finishing second in the giant slalom.

The talented skier raced in Bormio, Italy, last year - where the annual English Alpine Championships have been held since 2009 - and said she “can’t wait to experience the atmosphere and fast racing” of the course again.

Butcher’s team-mate, Norwich’s Megan Jenkins, will also join more than 500 racers who will compete at the one-week event, behind held from February 10-17.
