Norwich youngster Monica Raviraj has won a Winter National Tour in Greater Manchester.

Raviraj won the Bolton Arena Winter National Tour 12-and-under girls tournament, which had seen 48 girls competing, including the qualifying draw.

The Taverham Hall School year eight pupil, who comes from Catton, was seeded number three for the Grade Two tournament and sailed through the first two rounds as well as her quarter-final match.

In the semi-finals, the Easton College Tennis Centre ace played against the number one seeded girl from Bolton, Marni Banks, and won the match in three sets 5-7, 6-1, 10-7 (tie-break).

Then in the final she thrashed the number two seeded girl from the same club, Holly Staff, 6-2, 6-0 in straight sets to claim the championship title.
