Leaders Swardeston take a break from East Anglian Premier League action tomorrow, as they were due to face Clacton, who dropped out of the league during the close season.

That gives the Swardeston first XI a rest weekend, which allows second-placed Copdock & Old Ipswichian the chance to close the gap on the runaway leaders – who are chasing their third successive EAPL title.

Copdock travel to Cambridgeshire to take on eighth-placed Burwell, who won their first match of the season last week when they won a low-scoring thriller at home against struggling Saffron Walden.

Norwich have also made a decent start on their return to the EAPL, after being promoted as champions of the Norfolk Alliance Premier Division.

Chris Borrett's side currently sit fifth in the table but lost by seven wickets at Copdock & Old Ipswichian last Saturday, with Dominic Matarazzo top-scoring with 52 as they were bowled out for 163, before the home side reached their target with the loss of three wickets.

Norwich will be on their travels again tomorrow when they go to Cambridge Granta, who sit one place and four points above them in the table.

Horsford are seventh after a seven-wicket loss at Swardeston last week and will look to bounce back when they host Bury St Edmunds.

Vauxhall Mallards will look to kick-start their season tomorrow when they travel to fellow strugglers Saffron Walden.

The five-time EAPL champions have lost all four of their EAPL games so far this term. Last weekend they took six league points from a nine-wicket home defeat to Norfolk rivals Great Witchingham.

Sri Lankan Geet Alwis led the way with a knock of 84, in just 103 balls, as Mallards were bowled out for 222 in 64 overs.

The Witches then cruised to victory, with Sam Arthurton finishing on 101 not out and James Hale on 65 not out as the visitors reached the target for the loss of just one wicket.
