Norwich City’s Nathan Redmond has retained his place in the England Under-21 squad for upcoming friendlies against Portugal and France as the Young Lions start their build up to next summer’s Uefa U21 European Championships.

Redmond was a key member of Gareth Southgate’s set-up which booked their place in the Czech Republic for the finals in 2015 following last month’s aggregate play-off victory over Croatia.

Redmond is joined in the latest squad by Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson who earns his first call-up following a prolific goalscoring start to his Bournemouth career after rejecting a move to Carrow Road from Coventry City prior to this campaign.

Southgate’s squad play Portugal’s u21s at Burnley on November 13 before travelling to Brittany for the match with their French counterparts on November 17.

Fellow flyer Josh Murphy is also back in the England under-20s squad for their friendlies against Canada and Portugals’ u20s next week after pulling out of Aidy Boothroyd’s plans last month with a heel injury.

Redmond and Murphy are the latest members of Neil Adams’ squad to get an international call after the club’s Championship trip to Nottingham Forest this weekend. Kyle Lafferty will look to maintains his hot streak for Northern Ireland after being named in Michael O’Neill’s squad for this month’s Euro2016 qualifier in Romania.

Lafferty has started the campaign in superb goalscoring form, with three goals in three matches to help his country win their first three qualifiers and top group F, but they face a stiff test against the Romanians when they travel to Bucharest for their next qualifier scheduled for Friday, November 14 (KO 7:45pm GMT).

Lafferty scored in the aways wins in Hungary and Greece as well as the Windsor Park victory over the Faroe Islands to ensure Northern Ireland lead the group by two points from the Romanians in the early stages of qualification for the finals in France.

The 27-year-old has yet to score a competitive goal for the Canaries following his summer transfer from Palermo but did return to the starting line up after suspension for last Friday’s 2-1 Championship win over Bolton.

Meanwhile, City team mates Steven Whittaker and Russell Martin were named in Gordon Strachan’s Scotland squad on Tuesday lunchtime for the Euro2016 qualifier against the Republic of Ireland at Celtic Park and a prestige friendly against England later this month.

The Scots hosts Martin O’Neill’s Irish on November 14 before the Three Lions travel north of the border for a friendly on November 18. Scotland have picked up four points from their opening three games in group D after a narrow opening defeat to World Champions Germany. They beat Georgia at Ibrox last month before a 2-2 draw against the Poles.

Fellow City defender Martin Olsson is in the Sweden squad for a Euro2016 qualifier against Montenegro in Podogorica on Saturday November 15 before facing France in a friendly on November 18 at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille, Sweden are third in group G with five points from three games, one point above Montenegro.

Canaries’ midfielder Alex Tettey also retains his place in the Norway squad, for a home friendly against Estonia on November 12, followed by a Euro 2016 qualifier in Azerbaijan the following Sunday.

Jamar Loza couls also be part of Jamaica’s squad for the Caribbean Cup. The 20-year-old earned his third cap for the Reggae Boyz during a friendly in Japan last month and Jamaica start their involvement in the tournament against Martinique on November 11, although their squad has not yet been announced.
