Fulham striker Ross McCormack is the latest player to be linked with a summer transfer to Norwich City.

The Daily Mail claim the Canaries are “considering” a move for the 28-year-old Scotland international, who signed for the Cottagers for a shock reported fee of £11million last summer.

McCormack was unable to help Fulham shake the hangover of Premier League relegation though, with his 17 league goals helping the west London club to pull away from relegation trouble and finish in 17th place in the final Championship table.

“Norwich City are weighing up a move for Fulham striker Ross McCormack,” the Mail report claims.

“Manager Alex Neil wants to strengthen through the spine of his team and is sifting through potential transfer targets.”

The striker has enjoyed two good seasons at Championship level, scoring 29 goals in 53 games in all competitions for Leeds United in 2013/14, before 19 in 51 for Fulham last season, but is untested in the top flight.

With strikers Cameron Jerome, Lewis Grabban, Gary Hooper and returning loan striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel already on the books at Carrow Road, the Scot seems unlikely to be a huge improvement for City – especially if a fee of anywhere close to £11m is required to sign him.

  • Ross McCormacks best days were at Leeds just like Becchio's were! Invest your money in someone who is hungry for success who is proven in the Premiership! I mean why is no club making moves to sign Charlie Austin??? Go in now with £10 million, would probably do the job as QPR will need the money to pay there impending fine!

  • It wouldn't make any differents if the club had a turn over of £ 250 million the owners would still buy cheap players and And sell for high prices that's what they always done the owners would never spend big money anymore no matter how much was in the clubs bank account, they where voted the meanest club in the premeirship last season are you proud of this Delia and here board.

  • We would do well to prize Pritchard away from his on-loan experience at Brentford, albeit he wouldn't play against Spurs, his parent club. By far the best away player I saw at CR and younger and fitter than Wes.

  • Come on the city board stop being so tight and buy quality players so we can stay there not go straight back down its not like we don't have any money . Last season when city where in the prem Norwich got voted out of all the clubs in the prem as the tightested club , came out that they paid less on transfers salary and general staff wages this club was vote the tightested club in the premeirship are you proud of this Delia.

  • Ross McCormack. Definitely no! Remember we got promoted not relegated. Norwich needs a few experienced Premier players to get the club through the season into the new TV pay out season and then Norwich will need more Premiership talent.

  • Watford have parted company with yet another manager. It seems Jokanovic wanted to be paid as much as the players under his care\command. Infamy. His replacement is, reportedly, a Quiche Flora. I`ve never been a great flan of his and, anyway, butter IS much better than margarine. The Itchy & Scratchy Show runs on. At least, an exsiting (sic) new support act in `City man`; who has yet to post in any recognisable language. Btw; I hope Alex Neil is being approriately rewarded. It`s not all about Stephen Fry`s public profile. The wee man who did the real work must get his kudos too. ITMIT.

  • Nobody is saying the club has to break the bank but they can aford one or two quality players better than we have there is no point buying a player that's no better than we have got . That's not going forward the board would be happy up or down just millions in the bank and they want to spend as little as possible it might work some time but you can't exspect it to all the time the money belongs to the club not them .

  • oldtimer & MB, Grant was the best example. There are still great bargains out there and I'm sure AN and DM are looking for hungry players on the way up rather than journeymen mercenaries looking for a big payday. We may well get another dud but it's going to be an interesting ride. I'm sure those whingeing about lack of spending were the same as those accusing DM of going for the cheap option when AN was appointed! Would be interesting to see postings from that time again....

  • I am not interested in McCormack. I just don't think he offers us anything special that Jerome or Grabham cannot provide. Without hesitation, I'd get JOHNY RUSSELL (Derby) before signing anyone else. A brilliant, brilliant footballer. Fast enough, technically great, superb finisher, goals and more goals from the flanks... And can play on the left. AN's big dilemna next season will be who to play in midfield. Note that Johnson hasn't scored so many playing out and out wide left, his goals mostly came from 4-2-3-1, a very different position. And Howson and Dorrans are too similar. And Tettey can only break up play (very well), but then only passes 10 yards sideways. Very interesting decisions coming up, in a very, very different standard of football. But for me... we need an entire 4 man defence. Bassong will get another contract, be on the TVs and then start sulking again, Olsson and Whits were really exposed in the Prem and Martin has lost a lot of pace in the last couple of seasons. Interesting! I quite like the attitude of Harlee Dean at Brentford, old school... and that goes a long way. Johny Russell in front of Olsson will be better. Redmond in front of Whits, probably okay, but at attacking cost. Hence the need to get some creativity on the left rather than just BJ's effort.

  • ... surely, no Norwich manager has had such riches as did Hughton? Look what Lambo achieved with honest pros like Wes Hoolahan, David Fox, Andrew Crofts, Russell Martin & Marc Tierney plus a few bargain basement buys like Andrew Surman & Anthony Pilkington. Plus that Freebie Deluxe, Bradley Johnson. Which reminds me, Clueless also brought to us `Robert`. How could I forget Robert our left-footed right winger, ipso facto team manager and instigator of `Penaltygate`. I do try to forget Robert...

  • Good comments, oldtimer & DJ_F (as always). I think the trouble is rooted in Fantasy Football Leagues and Tabloid sensationalism, supported by "the likes of" the Eastern Dreary Parish-magazine. On a point of fact, I think Holty came to us via Shrewsbury, after being misused then unloaded by Forest`s brilliant manager, one Colon Calderdash. Even at about £500k, The Shres made a small profit. So did we, when Superholt moved to Wigan. Bewilderwood, however, managed to turn Forest`s erstwhile top scorer and Player of the Season into a financial and footballing loss. Such insightfulness. I wonder what Big Grant thought when he saw the Grim Reaper heading back to Carra with Clueless Chrissie`s posse of pu$$!es? City man, Norwich were also able, under The Clueless One, to recruit other fairly costly players; Bassong, Tettey and Hooper. Plus a few `not-so-cheap` types like Redmond and Olsson. I must say that Neil Adams did very well to get Cameron Jerome for a reported £1.5m. Alex Neil did well to get Big Bass back on board for a reported nothing! ITMIT.

  • DJF, there unfortunately is always going to be the element of idiocy posted on here by the likes of scatty jammy and city man. In the latters case l suppose he's not old enough to remember Delia and MWJ bailing our club out to the tune of 11 million pounds. As for cheap players not being able to do the business for us, shall we quote a certain Grant Holt, who came to us on "the cheap", from languishing in the Notts Forest reserves, and look what he did for us

  • The Norwich owners only want to be in the premeirship for one reason only millions in the bank they are on a win win situation £130 million in the prem or £millions in they go back down they can't lose . But as for the fans they don't care what they think becauce they know fans will always turn up. If they do buy on the cheap one will say know Norwich will be back in the championship next season.

  • All city fans You will not see any big money summer signings the owners are looking to strengthen the squad on the cheap as normal . A statment in paper saying that the club was looking for players that played in the prem last season. player from Burnley was talk off until they said he cost to much wanted a good price for him as he played in the prem , this club need quality players to avoid goning straight back down but the club is as tight as usual it's not like they are Brook . City have a vast amount in the bank but they don't want to spend as little as possible Norwich will go back down.

Though RVW is a complete waste of space, we do have better strikers in Jerome, Grabban and Hooper, and other options plus Redmond can play there, and young Loza is coming along quite nicely. Sad to see that troll jaemae still hasn't managed to find his brain cell yet.
