Rumour mill: Norwich City among host of clubs tracking Stoke City defender Robert Huth

Robert Huth could find himself dropping into the Championship after reportedly being frozen out at top-flight Stoke City.

Boss Mark Hughes has, according to the Daily Telegraph, given the giant German defender the green light to leave the club on loan this month. The news comes as no surprise to many with Huth having played less than 10 minutes in the Premier League in the past 14 months since picking up a serious knee injury.

But those fitness issues appear not to have put off a host of second-tier teams, including Norwich City, Reading and Fulham, all of whom are thought to be keeping tabs on the former Chelsea player.

The 30-year-old made 42 appearances at Stamford Bridge after working his way up from the youth team. A move to Middlesbrough followed in 2006 where he stayed for three years before heading to the Britannia. Huth – who has this morning been charged by the FA for misconduct in relation to comments posted on social media – has featured 187 times since his arrival in the Potteries and at one time was the first-choice partner alongside Ryan Shawcross.

  • Bl00dy Hell, BoF!! That`s all a bit erudite. I only do Naaarfuk, English, Liquorice and Gibberish. The rest is all Greek to me. I only learned a tiny bit of Dutch for a purpose & for a laaaarf, and my German is the remnants of what little I learned at school. We all speak a bit of Latin every day. Pax Canaria. Paxo 1p5wich. Looks like I`ve had one effort retrodeleted.. a bit of harmless whimsy about a forthcoming gliterati wedding in Dereham. Can`t be bothered to find out what the "reason" was. Things don`t change, do they? I`d appreciate a translation, BoF!! ;-)

Anyway, not been too well since before Xmas so the rest did me as much good as it did everybody else. Waclor; did you know that the very first item on Mustard News was a story about a barn full of potatoes catching fire. Potatoes! At about 90%(?) water, you might`ve thought they`d burst their skins and put themselves out. Like a control-freak cat. What do outsiders think of Norfolk?? Spud-U-Like Lookalike? A bit like Huth.

  • Such so, so very fun! I suggest a new venue. Duke of Wellington in Waterloo Rd. Not that far from FCBT, Whalebone etc. I like The Champion, but it is a bit cramped, and regulars have their regular demesnes. I`ve been in there today for a pint of Bateman`s XXXB. Deeevine, daaarlings. My Cattle truck service back to Stalhamgrad is much improved since First and Sanders started competing for the Executive Market in these here paaarts. They even serve crudely uncomplimentary crudités with their complements. As for adulation; keep it coming. It beats subtractulation anny old day..

One or two came in last time and didn't realise who we are and left. Another possibility is the Champion, by St. Stephens.

  • He might just do that, Fagen. Brewer will need a pint or two of something soothing to recover from all this adulation. I know how you hate to depart from the status quo, but how about the Fat Cat Brewery Tap (FCBT)? Better on the inside than the outside (just like my women), a half decent selection of ale and on the right side of the city for Brewer's stagecoach. FCBT, OTBC, IBWT and all that stuff.

Another one who was praised up as being a human Maginot line . Either play him or chuck him out . Where is Odija-Ofoe ? Idling about in Ghent and limping into Carrow road once a month to remind everyone he still wants his paycheck . If he cant play then chuck him out too . We have more sick and injured than the N+N . Last thing we want is another one to join the queue . Gonna need a bigger Treatment suite .

Apparently his replies have breached FA rules. Is it just me or was life a lot simpler in the days of Ron Ashman? And who's that at the door this time, is it Brew, alias number 6, looking for sanctuary or has BW gone on the run? The beers are on me guys but first I must know, who is number one? My suspicion is that he has been on a crash diet, visited a barber, cultivated a Scottish accent and is currently secretly managing an East Anglian Championship football club....in the unlikely event that the above theory is proved to be erroneous, I am ready and willing to join any search party that will have me.

  • I was banned.......Fagen, banned for life apparently. With the help of a spade, a pair of bolt croppers and a cunning disguise, I've sneaked back into Stalag Archant to post this. I fear that my Arch enemy may unearth my tunnel before I emerge into the cubicles, so I'll be brief-ish. I've tried various means of communication and other research tools to locate the Gek Brouwermeister.....to no avail. I'd like to think he has suffered a similar fate to myself in which case he might sneak back in.....disguised. Failing that, it would only take 100,000 signatures on an online petition to get the matter if his reinstatement discussed in Parliament. There again, he might have opted for some winter sun in Teneriffe.....it wouldn't be the first time he took a mid-season break. There might be some truth in Foggo's theory, but, as Fagen will confirm, French is more my forte than German, so I can't really say. Cutty's theory sounds like a marriage made in hell, in fact the stuff of nightmares. Until I receive proof to the contrary, I'm opting for the Dingo scenario......it's just so Brewer, although given his penchant for a jar or three, he would have little use for the Alfa. Despite my misgivings surrounding the fate of Brewer Hebdo and my mourning the passing of his deliciously incomprehensible musings on the cubicle walls, it's good to see so many other veteran mavericks stepping up to the plate to fill the void. Just be afraid, if only a little afraid, for even as we speak, the man at Lincs' front door is sporting a long leather trench coat and a pair of jack boots. Surely, the Arch Censor could not dispense with his indispensable stats and his remarkable omniscience, could he? Meanwhile, here's to 3 points from Cardiff, hoof or no hoof. I kneel before Neil, and even though I don't really know him from Adams, I have more confidence in Alex than Archie. OTBC. Yours fleetingly..........Je suis Blaff.........not so brief, oops!
