Two international footballers are the latest to be linked with a move to Norwich City in the January transfer window.

The Daily Mail claim the Canaries have held discussions with Italian side Sampdoria about a possible deal for Brazil-born Italy international striker Eder.

The same newspaper claims City scouts were also in France to watch Ivory Coast centre-back Lamine Koné in action for Lorient, in a 3-0 defeat at Ligue Un mid-table rivals Lille at the weekend.

Koné is 26 years old and stands at 6ft 1ins tall. West Ham and Aston Villa have been linked with a move as well, while respected French newspaper L’Equipe has also reported that Sunderland had agreed a deal with Lorient for the Paris-born defender, although Sky Sports has subsequently reported that no deal has been agreed.

Sampdoria striker Eder is also being linked, with the 29-year-old having scored 11 goals for club and country so far this season.

The Mail claim Norwich are prepared to offer around £7.5million for the former Cesena and Brescia hot shot but also report that the Canaries are keeping tabs on two other strikers, Utrecht’s Sebastien Haller and Wolves’ Benik Afobe.
