Young Canaries striker Carlton Morris has been recalled him from his loan at Oxford United.

The 18-year-old has found games hard to come by, although he performed well when he appeared for Norwich’s Development team against Spurs last week.

Oxford head coach Michael Appleton said: “Carlton has done well and we have enjoyed having him here. He works hard at his game and we wish him well for the future. We have six players on loan at the moment and can only use five so it seems a sensible move for all concerned.”

Morris made seven starts and two sub appearances for Oxford, scoring once at Bristol City in the Capital One Cup.

  • @baguio I agree he's one for the future. Strong and clever on the half dozen times I've seen him play.

  • I like the comments on here, if only to route out the people who clearly know nothing about football! Do you guys really think that if he was ready for our first team he would have been sent out on loan to Oxford who in turn didn't think he was good enough for their team either? Laughable!

  • I he wasn't regular for Oxford why would he get info our first team? Train with the first team yes and maybe in the squad but IMO that's it for now.

  • Play him with Campbell - he will bring energy to the front line which is sorely needed, and he knows where the goal is. Is it too soon? Not if he really has potential. And make sure he has one of the other young bloods in the starting line up so his enthusiasm is supported and encouraged - Murphy, for instance.

  • I liked his style when I saw him play ,reminded me of a young GH . Play him, we can't do any worse at the moment , he may be the wild card we need

  • Derek McD; I`d be tempted to include Morris in the squad, with Laffers being suspended & Grabbs a touch off-colour. Also, is Hooper fit enough for a full 90 min? Nobody knows the young players better than Neil. INIT in that respect. Is Loza on loan somewhere?? I`ve forgotten!
