Norwich City's development squad fell at the last 16 stage in Thursday's Premier League U21 Cup 2-0 defeat against Southampton's U21s at St Mary's.
Ryan Seager and Sam McQueen notched for the hosts to seal a quarter-final tie against Watford.
Conor McGrandles was the only City player with first team experience on duty with the likes of Josh Murphy, who scored in the previous round's 4-2 win at Fulham, not included in the matchday squad along with Carlton Morris, Jamar Loza and Cameron McGeehan who have all gone out on Football League loans since the last tie against the Cottagers.
Seager rolled the ball into an empty net in the 22nd minute after Jake Sinclair's clever pass from the left before McQueen wrapped up the tie in the 82nd minute when Seager's initial strike hit the post with Remi Matthews' beaten.
• Norwich City starting line up: Matthews, Hall-Johnson, Efete, Ramsay, McFadden, Gafaiti, Norman, McGrandles, Grant, Ashley-Seal, Kelly. Subs: Beauchamp, Byrne-Hewitt, Cole, Fox, Awuah.
