WATCH: Farke, Bailey, Davitt and Freezer cover City’s Bolton bashing
Norwich City’s poor run of EFL Championship form continued at the Macron Stadium as Bolton Wanderers stunned their weekend visitors – and we were there from first moment to last.
Our Canaries correspondents Michael Bailey, Paddy Davitt and David Freezer were at Carrow Road to send off the supporters’ coaches, and then the Macron Stadium to break the team news and get the post-match verdict from City head coach Daniel Farke, as well as delivering their own analysis following City’s first league defeat on the road in five away games.
Goals late in the first half from Gary Madine and Adam Armstrong proved enough to put Norwich to the sword.
It rendered Josh Murphy’s injury strike nothing more than a consolation.
City headed into the game off the back of successive Carrow Road defeats, to promotion hopefuls Derby County and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively.
However their form on the road had remained superb and were aiming for a club record-equalling fifth successive away league win if they picked up three points at the Macron Stadium.
Bolton had to wait until mid October to pick up the first Championship win of their return from League One. Three draws followed, helping lift them off the foot of the table.
Their previous draw came at Sunderland, with the 3-3 result spelling the end of Black Cats manager Simon Grayson.
The final international break of 2017 now arrives following Saturday’s northern outing. When Farke’s Canaries return, they welcome Paul Heckingbottom’s Barnsley and Alex Neil’s Preston to Carrow Road on successive Saturdays – sandwiching a trip to Mark Warburton’s Nottingham Forest.
Each and every Norwich City first-team game, our reporters will be on the scene. If you see them – especially with their cameras – say hello.
