Flüthmann follows Farke and his assistant Edmund Riemer from Borussia Dortmund to become first team coach after operating in BvB’s famed youth system. Flüthmann will also oversee City’s technical analysis and performance analysis team at Colney.

Domogalla becomes head of sports science, following the recent departure of Nick Davies, and he will oversee the sports science, medical and nutritional areas of the football department. McAvoy and Kiely will remain as first team coach and head goalkeeping coach respectively.

“I’m delighted that we now have the new Colney team confirmed and together in time for the start of pre-season,” said sporting director Stuart Webber. “It gives us a good blend of British and foreign coaches and staff and we have some good skill-sets and experience across all the departments.

“We’re really pleased to welcome Christian and Chris on board who have worked with Daniel and Edmund during their time at Dortmund. Christian, as well as being on the training pitch, will also work with our established performance analysis team headed by Lee Dunn, who do an excellent job in team preparations around matches. Chris Domogalla will bring together the disciplines of fitness, medicine and nutrition at Colney.”

Webber, speaking to the club’s official site, feels the presence of McAvoy and Kiely is vital for Farke and his German coaching team.

“We’re also delighted to say that Frankie and Dean are staying with us, which offers some continuity as well as great experience in the game,” he said. “Frankie will continue to help bridge the link for the club’s younger players making the transition between the academy and first-team environment – having supported the Under-23s at matches last season and also in his previous roles at Hamilton.

“Dean is a vastly experienced coach working with a great pedigree and reputation in the game and we’re pleased to have him as part of our team.”
