Norwich City star James Maddison has been named in the EFL Sky Bet Championship Team of the Season.

The England Under-21 international has been the Canaries’ star player, scoring 13 goals and setting up another seven during 38 league games.

That has seen him named in the overall team and nominated for the EA Sports Young Player of the Season award, alongside Ruben Neves of Wolves and Ryan Sessegnon of Fulham.

He is named in the team alongside former Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy, who has been a regular for runaway league leaders Wolves, who are closing on promotion to the Premier League.

The shortlists have this afternoon been revealed for the 2018 EFL Awards, which are being held at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Sunday, April 15.

All 72 EFL managers were invited to vote for their players of the season, with votes also compiled for the Championship, League One and League Two Teams of the Season. The overall EFL Team of the Season will be announced on the night of the awards. Maddison has been nominated for a host of awards during his breakthrough season at City, including the Championship Player of the Month for September, October and January, as well as winning the Championship Goal of the Month for spectacular strikes during 1-0 wins at Middlesbrough in September and Bristol City in January.
