Scoring the consolation for Norwich City Under-23s in the final game of their pre-season camp in Germany felt like a deserved reward for Diallang Jaiyesimi.
The former Dulwich Hamlet attacking midfielder pulled a goal back in yesterday’s 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Braunschweig Under-23s at the Canaries’ Hotel Klosterpforte base.
“It’s been a tough week so it was a good performance by the boys,” Jaiyesimi, who also started Wednesday’s 2-1 win over SC Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, told City’s website. “We’re disappointed to have lost but that was the kind of game we needed. We’ll take all the positives we can from it.
“We’ve had no excuses with the first team watching over us this week, we’ve had to put the work in. I’m pleased to score but it’s a team effort so all credit to the boys.
“They had a lot of experienced players so it was tough but we pulled through.”
Jaiyesimi, 19, is contracted until next summer and scored eight goals in 33 games for City’s under-23s last season.
