Moritz Leitner has been handed his first Norwich City start by head coach Daniel Farke for this afternoon's match at high-flying Derby County.

The January signing comes in for Tom Trybull after the German was ruled out for most of the remainder of the season with knee and ankle ligament damage, as the only change to the Canaries' starting XI.

Harrison Reed continues at right wing-back but captain Ivo Pinto is fit enough to return to the bench as cover.

City have won five of their last seven Championship matches and are looking to build on a 1-0 home victory over Middlesbrough last weekend.

Farke's team are also unbeaten in four away games, winning 1-0 at Brentford a fortnight ago to also keep their fourth successive away clean sheet in the league.

The Rams sit second in the table and are unbeaten in 11 league games, winning 3-0 at home to Brentford last weekend, with former Canaries striker Cameron Jerome scoring his first goal since a January move for an initial £1.5million.

Gary Rowett has named an unchanged starting line-up, with Jerome leading the line for the hosts, although former Canaries star Bradley Johnson is fit enough to return to their substitutes bench.

Norwich: Gunn; Hanley, Zimmermann, Klose; Reed, Tettey (C), Leitner, Lewis; Maddison, Murphy, Oliveira. Subs: McGovern (GK), Pinto, Vrancic, Stiepermann, Watkins, Hernandez, Srbeny

Derby: Carson; Wisdom, Keogh (C), Davies, Olsson; Thorne, Huddlestone; Lawrence, Vydra, Anya, Jerome. Subs: Roos (GK), Baird, Johnson, Palmer, Ledley, Wiemann, Nugent

City team news

Tom Trybull has been ruled out for the majority of the run in, after suffering ankle and knee ligament damage in last week's match-winning cameo against Middlesbrough. Trybull does not require surgery but faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Ivo Pinto will travel after his knee problem, but only returned to full training on Thursday. James Maddison has also missed most of the week with a dead leg but is in the squad. Farke reported no fresh injury concerns on Friday and revealed Matt Jarvis is scheduled to step up his return from knee and ankle injuries at the start of next week. Midfielder Louis Thompson (Achilles) remains a longer term injury absentee.

Derby County team news

Sam Winnall has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. Ex-City midfielder Bradley Johnson could return after a back injury that has kept him out.

One to watch – Cameron Jerome

Opened his Derby goal account in last weekend's 3-0 Championship home win over Brentford, after moving last month for a reported £1.5m fee that could rise to £2m. Spent four years with the Canaries, capped by a vital goal in the Championship play-off final win over Middlesbrough at Wembley in 2015.

Derby County manager – Gary Rowett

Harshly dismissed by Birmingham City, for most observers, with the Blues on the fringes of the play-offs in 2016 after a top 10 finish in his first season at St Andrews. Prior to that led Burton to two play-off campaigns in League Two.

Referee – Jeremy Simpson (Lancashire)

Shown 119 yellow and five red cards during 29 matches so far this season.
