Our Norwich City correspondent David Freezer has posted his marks following the Canaries' 1-0 home success over Wigan.

Here is David's verdict on Daniel Farke's troops, who extended their winning streak to five matches and unbeaten run to seven in all competitions...

• Tim Krul

Very quiet day for City's number one, as a largely unambitious Wigan were kept at arm's length. A couple of good aerial claims and decent distribution, third clean sheet in four matches. 6

• Max Aarons (replaced by Thompson, 65)

Understandably the 18-year-old was looking weary mentally after his first burst of senior action, on the back of England U19 duty during the break. Dwelled on the ball too much at times, booked, but it's all part of the learning curve. 5

• Christoph Zimmermann

Another solid afternoon dove-tailing nicely with his defensive partner to seal a third clean sheet from four league games since coming in for Grant Hanley. One lovely ball forward to Stiepermann in the first half, one horrendous long ball in the second, but generally tidy. 7

• Timm Klose

One crunching tackle on Michael Jacobs in particular summed up his day, bailing out Alex Tettey and then leaping in the air in a frustrated celebration to send a message to his team-mates. Solid, leader. 8

• Jamal Lewis

Another of the young lads who looked like an intense period has lead to a dip in concentration. Still tried to push forward and improved after the break but not the same level as recent weeks. 6

• Alex Tettey

Got through the usual load of defensive work in midfield and showed leadership as captain again, trying to wake his team-mates from their early slumber. Could have done better with a shot after cushioned header from Buendia in the second half. 7

• Moritz Leitner

Hungry for possession and kept City ticking over without being able to really get things going in congested centre ground. Strong block from a Nick Powell shot on the hour before a fine turn and pass to set Buendia on the attack. 7

• Emi Buendia (replaced by Rhodes, 65)

Big chance five minutes before the break after being unselfishly teed up by Stiepermann but shot from just inside the box was bravely blocked by Chey Dunkley. Some bright work but another young players starting to look tired during a busy spell. 6

• Marco Stiepermann

City's main threat going forward, although wasn't able to control midfield quite as much as recent games, so found himself dropping wide at times in the search for space. Drew fine saves from Christian Walton in either half and quick feet found Pukki ahead of the foul for the penalty. 8

• Todd Cantwell (replaced by Vrancic, 65)

Plenty of bright work with the ball, linking well with Leitner at close quarters, but angered his head coach when caught the wrong side of right-back Reece James when out of possession a couple of times. Still persevering well enough wide on the left, valuable minutes in his development. 6

• Teemu Pukki

Charged clean through in the first half but just couldn't control the ball enough to grab the lead, allowing Dunkley time to tackle back – although it should have been a penalty. Loads of running again before being bundled over for the crucial penalty moment and then unselfishly allowing Vrancic to take the spot-kick as he was feeling tired. 7

SUBSTITUTES

• Mario Vrancic (for Cantwell, 65)

Kept his cool in the crucial moment to send Walton the wrong way for the winning penalty and offered urgency after coming on, to score his second winner in four games. Quickly finding form and fitness again. 7

• Louis Thompson (for Aarons, 65)

Thrown on at right-back to take Aarons out of the firing line and dealt well with the defensive work which came his way, using his experience to good effect. 6

• Jordan Rhodes (for Buendia, 75)

Midweek hat-trick hero disrupted the Wigan back-line with his physicality, with one particularly fine header to nod a Vrancic pass on and play Pukki clean through. Then used his experience to take the ball in the corners and kill the game late on. 6
