Daniel Farke is not trying to offload Nelson Oliveira or Cameron Jerome in the January transfer window.

Both of Norwich City’s senior strikers have already been touted with possible Carrow Road exits in the early days of the New Year sales.

Jerome is reportedly interesting a clutch of Championship rivals after an injury-hit few weeks has seen him play a bit-part role.

Portugal international Oliveira has again found himself linked to fellow countryman Nuno Espirito Santo’s title hopefuls Wolves, after previously being tracked by Reading and Swansea City in the summer.

“All I can say is both Nelson and Cameron are really, really professional,” said Farke. “When I see how intense Cameron was working to get fit after his back problem over these past two weeks I am happy to have them and happy to work with them.

“I am not concerned about this topic. Stuart (Webber) mentioned several times we can only bring in new players if we sell or some go on loan.

“When you work in this area you have to be awake and evaluate your options.

“Does it make sense to let some player go away to bring in a new player?

“Right now, I am content with the squad but we are always looking at options and we will watch the market.

“There will be days in January when we have to speak about players, but the board have already mentioned there is no financial pressure on us.”

Farke is happy to let sporting director Webber drive City’s transfer strategy and leave him to guide Norwich up the Championship table after seven points from the last nine available.

“As a coach you always cry for quality. I would like (Lionel) Messi or (Cristiano) Ronaldo,” he said. “Perhaps when we play Chelsea in the cup I will speak to (Antonio) Conte and he might have two or three players he wants to loan us.

“I know the financial situation, I was prepared for it.

“I knew we are not the club with the biggest financial opportunities in this league and we have to deal with that despite the high expectations.

“We can’t bring expensive players in.

“It is up to me to develop players. You can see with Jamal Lewis, who was brilliant again (against Millwall) and Josh Murphy, who right now has some more consistency.”
