Norwich City head coach Daniel Farke has made five changes for this evening’s Carabao Cup third round tie at Brentford.
Marley Watkins starts up front, with Cameron Jerome on the bench to protect him with Nelson Oliveira out injured. Wes Hoolahan and Mario Vrancic come into attacking midfield in place of Yanic Wildschut, who is on the bench, and James Maddison.
Alex Tettey is rested completely, with Southampton loanee Harrison Reed replacing him in defensive midfield and James Husband coming in for Marco Stipermann at left-back.
Former Liverpool midfielder Adam Phillips also gets a place on the bench after a bright start to the season for the 19-year-old with City’s U23s.
The hosts have made seven changes to the team which started Saturday’s 1-1 home draw with Reading in the league.
The Canaries are looking to build on a 1-0 win at Sheffield United in the league on Saturday, which stretched their unbeaten run to three matches and was also their third successive clean sheet.
Norwich have beaten two lower league teams at home in the competition so far, League Two side Swindon 3-2 in the first round and League One promotion hopefuls Charlton 4-1 in the second.
Brentford are yet to win in the Championship this season, sitting third from bottom with four draws from eight games, but have drawn with promotion hopefuls Reading, Aston Villa and Wolves recently. The Bees won 3-1 at League One side AFC Wimbledon in the first round before a derby success in the second, winning 4-1 at QPR.
Norwich (4-2-3-1): Gunn; Pinto (C), Zimmermann, Klose, Husband; Reed, Trybull; Vrancic, Hoolahan, Murphy; Watkins. Subs: Matthews (GK), Jerome, Wildschut, Stiepermann, Tettey, Franke, Phillips.
