Kyle Lafferty will not be heading to Leeds United or anywhere else on loan, warns Alex Neil.

The Norwich City boss personally relayed that message to Whites' counterpart Steve Evans after a week of speculation touting the Northern Irishman with an imminent Elland Road switch.

Evans wants to engineer a loan move with an option to buy but Neil reiterated the striker, who is in his squad for Saturday's FA Cup tie against Manchester City, will only leave on Norwich's terms.

'The reasons Leeds are saying that is because that is exactly what I told Steve on Thursday when I spoke to him. We are not looking to loan Kyle out,' said Neil. 'If someone wants to come and get him then they need to buy him. That is basically where we are. We have Kyle on our books, he is part of our squad, he will be in the FA Cup squad and if Leeds want him they come and buy him, if they don't want do that then it is done as far as I am concerned.'

Neil was tight-lipped yesterday on reports of an £8m bid rejected from Bournemouth for Lewis Grabban, just days after sanctioning Elliott Bennett's exit to Blackburn.

'I am not going to get involved in that. We are not going to speculate, whether it regards ins or outs, until it happens,' he said. 'I don't think it's fair. There are other clubs who put things out in the press and stuff, we won't be doing that.

'Blackburn came in with an offer for Elliott and he wasn't playing. It was the best thing for him to further his career, but he goes with our best wishes. I gave him a call myself to thank him for all he did when I was here. You won't meet a better professional than Elliott Bennett.'
