It’s one of the most eagerly awaited moments of the summer - and today Norwich City have unveiled the new home kit as part of a club video.

To send a link to this page to a friend, you must be logged in.

A video shot by Norwich City TV, starring Russell Martin and season-ticket holding Barclay Boy Steve Marrison has been tweeted by the club which reveals for the first time the Canaries’ new Errea home kit for the season ahead.

The design will be officially unveiled today by the club - sparking the usual stampede to the shops to add it to fans’ collections.

But we have had a sneak preview - and can reveal the unusual new look, which includes potentially controversial green shoulders and upper chest. The shorts are the traditional green with a yellow trim.

The new kit is the latest in a long line of designs worn by Norwich City’s heroes since the club was formed more than 110 years ago.

They have included blue and white halves in the early years, yellow shirts with black shorts in the 1950s, the pin-stripe Poll and Withey-sponsored effort in the early 1980s, the egg-and-cress look from 1992-93 - worn by arguably Norwich’s most successful squad - and the all mustard-yellow 1998 design, put together by fashion icon Bruce Oldfield.

  • LincsCan; were you trying to explain the "nihilism" pun\homonym to Egyptian Canary? If so TVM. I`m fed up of explaining. Takes away the fun of the joke. Do you know, I used to be an adherent of nihilism, but I`ve lost my belief.

  • Sorry to disappoint you 'canary can-can', but I'm just an ordinary fan who wants our club to be different and not be part of the flock. I'd far rather we supported the smaller suppliers in the same way that Aviva are our shirt sponsors. I'm sure when we were in the PL, we could have had a more lucrative deal, but I for one am glad we stuck with Aviva!!!

  • WHY do so many fans want us to have our shirts made by one of the better known spots wear manufacturers - I personally haven't found any fault with the shirts over the last few seasons and mostly both home and away each season!!!! Why shouldn't we support the less well known brands - can someone please explain???

  • I think the goal music is good if the position is good...I mean, don't play it...if we're 3-0 down with minutes to go...and to go with the 'Mattias333's goal music, yellow nets and 'Mr Carrow'...I'd also like to see a couple of giant screens put on top of the 'Barclay' and 'River End' stands...it's about time we had them...the framework is surely in place on top of these stands (or something similar to the screens either end at Tottenham's White Hart Lane?)...

  • Nice kit. How can you go wrong with such striking colours? Happened just once and that strip was worn by our best ever team (Mike Walker\Goss\Munich). Egyptian, a nihilist rejects all established authority and institutions. Does that help? Take it as a compliment. Bit of a rebel. Black leather jacket, sideburns, drives a Cadillac kind of guy. As for the goal music I still have my Canary Rock n Roll cassette if the club wants it.

  • I quite like the new kit...I'm not a great lover of too much green on what should be an all yellow shirt (imo) but it actually works quite well, is quite smart and I do like the small collar. I do agree with most though...I'd still like to see us using a better brand...Ipshit are using 'Adidas' and it's still the same price for their home shirt (£44.99) as we're paying for the lesser known 'Errea' home kit...maybe change manufacturers to 'Adidas' or 'Nike' when the 'Errea' contract ends...(be nice to see a smart all yellow 'Adidas' shirt again with green pinstripes...as a tribute to the early to mid 80's 'Adidas' kit) or if we went with 'Nike' we'd look like Brazil (might start playing like them!!! lol)...on the away kit front, I wonder what colour that might be this season? (Maybe a reverse in colours of the home shirt...ie: all white with green front panels?)...my favourite away shirt has gotta be anything in white and green...(although I did like the black efforts the last couple of seasons) and the 'Aviva' sponsor just blends in with any new Norwich shirt nowadays...I hope they keep that for years to come...it's part of the club and couldn't imagine not seeing them without that on the shirt as sponsor now (as we all know it originated from the City and used to be 'Norwich Union'!!!)

I have to agree that there is nothing wrong with the quality and though I don't wear mine other than for home games, it is washed after each game and if people would just buy a larger size, then the shirt would fit better.

  • Ill admit the last ones build quality was slightly better. But previously it was heavily reported how poor the build qulaity was. Especially the first V-Neck one. The players constantly complained about it and even went as far as cutting it. From a fans POV it had an awful habbit of plucking in the wash no matter how careful you were with it. In fairness to Errea they've been a lot better than some of the horrific brands we used previous to them (Xsara, Pony etc....). My point still remains though, i'd much prefer a top brand if we are going to be forced to fork out £50 for one. They last and look so much better. I take some peoples point that the top brands get a bit repetitive with just different colours, but they've improved that in recent years. Hardly any of the Premier League club has a similar styled kit to another. From a casual\training wear sales POV the club shop would benifit far more selling products from a Nike, Adidas etc range. Kids blooming love the stuff!

I think the design looks good. a bit 'admiral - kevin keegan england era' and Errea have done a good job...again. Adidas maybe a good brand, but there ideas are dull and boring. I don't wear football shirts unless playing so wouldn't know about the wear issue. Do something about your bodies, I guess, if the shirt doesn't fit properly. Looking forward to the season already.

  • Norwich City have been notoriously behind the curve with their kits. We've been going downhill since the Hummell kit of 198586, we have second and third rate brands, with overcomplicated designs. We should keep it simple and have contemporary slim fits. This kit is still too roomy, though down the years our kits have been embarrassingly baggy and out of kilter with modern times. Another missed opportunity.

If for example we had Adidas or Nike, we'd then have a club shop full of training wear, casual wear, football boots, caps etc.....all produced by a top brand. Surely the kids and such will be more inclined to dip into their pocket (or their parents pocket) for top notch gear than Errea or Xsara etc....Just a thought. I hate Ipswich like the rest of you but they look so much better for switching from Mitre's horrific efforts to Adidas.

I just know ill fork out £50 though and not be totally happy with the fitting because modern shirts only seem to fit correctly and look stylish if you have the body of a god. Then I'll wash the thing and it was pluck and fall apart after 2-3 washes like normal. I understand Adidas and Nike etc get a bit same old same old just with different teams having different colours etc but I dont mind paying top doller if you're getting a top brand make it because it will last and it will look superb as well.
