It is barely 10 days since the Cottagers won at Carrow Road in the top flight – now Chris Hughton will hope his side can gain revenge for that defeat.

The City boss also reflected on the opening of the January transfer window, as well as whether the extended use of technology may have helped his side during their New Year’s Day draw at Crystal Palace – in which Marouane Chamakh escaped a red card after manhandling Wes Hoolahan.

  • Do you think the occasional shots of journalists writing things and people filming things are there because they're deemed more interesting that watching Chris Hughton talk? I'd rather be told there was 'an unexpected item in the bagging area' for an hour than watch Hughton talk about technology. Its like if Gordon Brown became CEO of Apple
