Neil Adams has said the signing of Bournemouth striker Lewis Grabban does not necessarily mean that fellow strikers Gary Hooper and Ricky van Wolfswinkel will be leaving the club this summer.

Adams was speaking at a press conference at City’s Colney Training Centre earlier today, when Gary Holt and Mark Robson were introduced to the media as Adams’ new first-team coaches.

  • Canarygirl, Barking Wise has jilted me! Ricky Winkel on his ceiling!! My own poster cut into small squares and hung by a piece of string in the cubicle. What are we to do? I just hope Ricky`s pic is on that shiny paper. Paper cuts would serve BW (abbr) right.... Hey, Mattias, ol`(young) buddy. Becchio`s younger brother is called Mathias. Luca is 31, so..... The Famiglia had a restaurant business in Argentina. You served up Becchio`s `casserole` (Osso buco?) at Colney. You have the upmarket Burger Tardis under Norwich`s answer to the Arc de Triomphe. I say you are Mathias Becchio, under the Flyover with a Burger-flipper. Give us a Clue do. ;-)

  • That`s right, Matt! poor Neil looks like he`s just been blinded by a paparazzi`s flashbulb, as he exits a motel room after a no longer clandestine naughty night out. I think there are still remnants of `Goth` make-up at the edges of his mouth....

  • I really hope Rickie stays and gets the chance to show just what he can do. I feel for the guy! He needs to be properly managed and utilised in a balanced attacking formation. I firmly believe that in Neil Adams we have someone who, with his more experienced assistants, will provide the kind of team we want to see. I am really optimistic about the new season. It may take a few games to settle, but I can visualise us, once we get into our stride, being a force to be reckoned with. If we keep Rickie, Hooper and Becchio and along with Grabban we have the makings of a formidable striking force. Onwards and upwards! OTBC

  • ha MB! Like i've always said I portray a very good illusion. Im generally busy all through the day but im blessed with being an exceptionally fast typer (even faster on this site because im working - hence the poor grammar at times!). I wonder how this 'extensive chat' Grabban & Adams went. Bless um, I like Neil a lot but hes not the best talker when it comes to the media & Grabban looked the same in his video last night. Both came over very timid, unable to maintain eye contact with the interviewer. Some find the media work easy (Shearer, Savage etc....can churn out rubbish for hours without so much as blinking or stuttering). Total side note but has anyone noticed how annoying the voice of the interviewer is for the official NCFC website? American sounding one. If he starts calling penalties, Pk's & the squad the roster I wont be happy!

  • Neil Adams- note to self- when talking to the press, especially when advocating maintaining standards, wear a tie! Small thing, but it IS expected and sets you apart from the apprentice boot cleaner or the car park steward.

  • no comment by Adams on how he is going to fit into Adams plan. Is he a target man type striker that Hooper or RVW can feed off or is he another RVW. Don't really understand the signing but let's hope the grand plan is revealed soon

  • pleased with the signing, and would also like to see how HooperRVW & Becchio perform within a more attacking formation and hopefully with some good service from midfield next season. Don't think we should be in a hurry to sell any of our strikers

  • If RVW and Hooper stay will they give Becchio a stool to sit alongside the bench?

  • Lewis Grabban signing has got to be good news! Who is going to be a robust target man for him to feed off? Cannot be persuaded that light weight Van Wolfsdinkle fits that role.

  • Matt - are you trying to kid us that you have no time? You disingenuous rascal! You only work 2 days out of 7. The rest of the time, you`re at work. ;-) Btw, agree with NMTD. Still think a `trad` target man would be good, though. Horses for courses.

  • ........ of course there's speculation and no doubt 'unofficial' enquiries for Hooper and RvW. The longer we hang on to both during the summer, the more likely their prices will more acceptable to the club. Let's not get rid at the first miserly offers just to get them off the books. IMO a Hooper Grabban partnership is an exciting proposition.
