City manager Chris Hughton is reported to be preparing a bid for £3m-rated Brighton striker Craig Mackail-Smith in January after missing out on him in the summer.
Mackail-Smith, 28, has scored 10 goals in the Championship this season and one national newspaper claims the Canaries are chasing his signature again, two years after he was a target for former boss Paul Lambert.
City are also reported to be the mystery Premier League club that are close to signing Zambian striker Jacob Mulenga, from Utrecht.
The 28-year-old recently admitted that his agents were in talks with a club in the English top-flight although the Canaries rejected reports he was watching the 4-3 defeat by Manchester City at Carrow Road.
Mulenga is currently top scorer for Utrecht in the Dutch Eredivisie with seven goals in 16 appearances.
A magnificent solo goal by midfielder Jonny Howson clinched a notable victory for Norwich City as they wrapped up their season by beating Premier League runners-up Manchester City on their own ground.

we have Jackson and Kane to fill the Mackail-Smith role, give them a proper chance. He has scored 10 goals, but only has 1 assist this season. Holt gives us goals and numerous assists, we need a more "All round" forward to help him out

Algarve, I wonder if Dion "you heard it here first" Dublin is Mackail-Smith`s Agent?? I hope this is just a smokescreen while the real business is being done elsewhere. Agree with Capri & baguio ref the "Holt-style" player issue. Morison just does not seem to have a place in Hoots` cunning plan other than as a component in a part-exchange deal? But Hoots is inscrutable!

Mulenga missed out on Zambia's win at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations because of a knee injury, so is now desperate to make up for that disappointment when the 2013 edition starts in South Africa next month. Would be a waste buying him when he is not really available...

I can see Hughton changing most of the front line in the January window and next summer. Not sure if a CMS deal is a shoe-in or a non-starter. Would he do better than Simeon in the PL? The main issue with Morison is he is not suited the single striker role. Grant Holt excels in this position as he can drift wide and take defenders with him as well as be a target man in the box..

McNally always flies under the radar. If you look through this mornings press we are rumoured to be after 5 different strikers! Interesting to see if any of the rumours, usually floated by speculating football agents, come true.

I would love to see The Norfolk Cafu given a chance to play the role of The Norfolk Van Persie. Quick reactions, two good feet and can head the ball, he has all the right skills.

Not the type of striker we need IMO. Holt is not getting younger and will start to pick up more injuries. A younger version of him is what is required. Simeon can do what CMS can do and we already have him on board!

It was great seeing two strikers on the pitch against ManC; although the passing let us down badly. Whatever strikers Hoots signs during January will be a big plus for us. We definitely need more power up front and who knows Mackail-Smith might be just the person we need. But it would be good to sign at least two or three in my book. Sadly I think Morison isn't up to the mark at the moment. otbc

£3M will get a lot more from over seas. CMS's flowing locks of hair really does not suit our team!

Wasn't that the same amount we bid on the last day of the season ? Hardly likely to go back with an offer which has been turned down, especially in this window where prices are higher. Couldn't it be a rehash of old stories
