  • I remember Turner being awesome in his first year in the Prem with Hull. Let's hope a move to us will kickstart him again. Pleased to see us adding depth at the back. Do we have enough cover at left back?

  • MB - "Sorry, I meant 5 strikers!" Exactly my point. Add to that Pilkington, E Bennett, Howson, Snodgrass - all of whom are likely to score. Why splurge a large chunk of our meagre transfer kitty on an unecessary striker. I'd just like to add that I have TOTAL faith in CH as our manager!!!

  • Yes, I agree wisemanthree, and but my reckoning we've got a fair amount of the 10-15m 'war chest' still in tact. Hopefully, 5m+ will be allocated to another proven goalscorer, but no doubt the canny McNally will want to keep some 'panic money' available for the Jan window.

  • Hope we bring in another striker before the deadline. I know we scored a lot of goals last year but strikers can be notoriously form wobbly and we've lost the cover of Wilbraham.

  • Looks about right, wisemanthree. Though we`ll probably have to offload one or two players now. We have loads of midfielders and will have 6 CBs inc McMartin. Also a new striker will leave us with 6 of them (inc Vaughan).

  • So are we agreeing to not disagree, Ed? Nowhere did I imply I had no belief in what Hoots is doing. Speed up.

  • Maybe we`ll go the "Spanish Way" Mr Ed. Loads of attack minded, multi-talented "midfielders" buzzing about and scoring from all over the place? Is Snods a forward or a midfielder? Ditto Wessi, Pilks, little Benno and maybe even Howson. We do have 6 "strikers" at the moment, in competition for 1 or 2 places? As long as we play good football and win enough games, Mr. Hughton has my total trust. But I sort of agreed with wisemanthree in principle. It`s just where "midfielder" ends and "forward" begins. Total footy the Hoots way!! OTBC.

  • @wisemanthree - sorry, I can't agree re the need for a new striker. Well over half our goals tally from last season came from players other than strikers and if CH is going to occasionally play with a 'lone striker', then to have another one would be a. costly and b. take up a valuable place in the squad.

  • Wikipedia reveals some impressive stats. Supporters` Club Player of the Year 3 consecutive seasons at Hull, and twice the Club`s official POY too. Played every minute of every game in Hull`s Prem season under Phil "Permatan" Brown. Has had one significant period out with a knee injury at Sunderland and seems to have dropped down the pecking order after his few months out. Looks a really solid citizen - will dwarf poor little Titch Ward! "Reportedly" Sunderland paid Hull £4million for him. I wonder what the price tag is this time? "Undisclosed" is favourite! Good old Mc Gnarly. Well done, Hoots. OTBC.

  • Although not a fixture in the Black Cats side arriving there from the Tigers hope he does'nt go soft in the Canaries. Looks especially good in set pieces, has good hight and looks strong.

  • So essentially if we sign Turner and Snodgrass then all we need is a new striker and a left back. Agreed?
