Norwich City are on the verge of signing Belgian midfielder Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe according to reports this morning.

The Canaries have reportedly agreed a fee of around £4m with Club Brugge for the 25-year-old, who has won five caps with the national side.

Odjidja-Ofoe was due to arrive in England today to discuss personal terms with Norwich City boss Neil Adams, who is keen to bring in another midfielder in the wake of Leroy Fer’s departure to QPR.

It promises to be a hectic few days before the transfer window closes on Monday, September 1 at 11pm.

Norwich have also been linked with Juventus defender Frederik Sorensen, who almost joined Leeds United earlier this summer.

Genoa, Olympiacos and Hellas Verona are also interested in the 22-year-old Dane, who has been capped five times for Denmark Under 21s.

Adams could be in the market for a defender after Ryan Bennett underwent surgery on an ankle injury sustained in the East Anglian derby against Ipswich. The former Posh defender is expected to be out for several weeks.

One other name has been thrown into the frame this morning in the form of Falkirk midfielder Conor McGrandles.

The 18-year-old has been earning rave reviews for the Bairns with Aston Villa also reportedly keen on his signature.

However, Norwich could hold all the cards given the fact that McGrandles worked with Canaries assistant boss Gary Holt when he was manager of the Scottish Championship side.

  • Very impressed with the Falkirk lad on a three year deal, and if we get O O from FC Brugge excellent. But the one that excites most is the potential arrival of Frederik Sorenson. What Trucker failed to mention on the Wiki evaluation, is his nickname <The Iceman> after going to Denmark last year and meeting the wonderful people he will slot in here nicely. To me the missing piece in the jigsaw.

  • B Inners, the grey seals seem to favour Horsey these days! Beddah perwoppahtaays, maii saahn. Sandbanks is sheer class. Barra `Arra resides there... and what remains of poor old Gazza. - cutty, DOBBY, like the laconic M333, seems to have done a runner. I think you drove him back to Spain, or possibly Ecuador. "Colin" makes more come-backs than an undercooked murg taka tak. He is not to be misunderestimated. Anyway, the panto season`s not far off now, and he`ll be busy rehearsing with his pal, Lily Savage, for their Aladdin gig. I`m not sure who rubs whose bottle. Something will come up.

  • News and rumors seem a bit light when NCFC need to secure at least one more midfielder and hopefully two defenders who can jump straight into the team with the schedule we have. On the loan front, would not mind seeing Yobo back for this season. Also note Warnock back at Palace - I can see the Premier league bottom 3 ending as they stand now - especially now Palace have Neil W back.

  • I dont think we are especially waiting until after the Bournemouth game to sell Surman. If we were that worried about him playing against us we could simply put a clause in the sale that he cannot play in that game. More likely he has not decided yet OR we are waiting to bring in a replacement before letting him go.

  • Blast me 'bor, I see that Colin has returned to Crystal Palace. Good luck with that. Obviously Gary Holt will have the inside track on McGrandles and must obviously rate him highly for that level of investment. Taking all these probable moves together and with what has just happened at Crystal Palace, NCFC is really starting to look the business again. Hallelujah and pass me the tambourine.

  • £4 million seems a bit heavy for a midfielder , unless he is well out of the ordinary , and not just another exotic overseas buy ( remember Thomas Helweg ? ) Why is it that overseas players are always credited with having abilities we seem unable to generate among home-grown players ? Until we see that their feet are as pedestrian as our clay shod journeymen players . Last thing we want at this stage is another RvW ( or another Earwig for that matter ) cluttering up the squad . Falkirk Fork'andles looks like a much better prospect , Hoolahan Mk 2 ? and age-wise will fit in nicely with the other " Young Guns " who showed us what they can do on Tuesday .

The other signings would be top class. We already seem to be on the up, let's hope it continues with a win over a good Bournemouth side. Then Cardiff - revenge for last season is in the air. Bring it on!

  • With regard to Frederik Sorensen here is an excerpt from Wiki. "On the long awaited Derby D'Italia between Juventus F.C and F.C. Internazionale Milano he notably played the full ninety minutes and silenced Samuel Eto'o in an astounding performance, in which he also made the assist for the only goal of the game." At 22 years old, 6' 5" tall and can play right back or centre back he would appear an exceptional prospect.

  • I think O'Neil is here as a good squad player, but he's only going to regularly start matches if we get an unwanted injury. He's definitely behind Johnson, Tettey, Howson and Hoolahan. But he makes a good sub with his experience, and can also play on the right hand side. Probably a good player for away games where we need to absorb pressure.

  • The Gary Holt connection might be enough to secure young McGrandles. On the other hand he might not like Holty's training methods. I hope he would see Norwich as more ambitious and more likely to give youth a chance as we did last night. Odjidja-Ofoe or O-O as is a more likely name (not nil nil) would be a good signing. Belgian internationals fare quite well in English football.

  • Vadis would further strengthen the squad and would be a welcome addition. Among the many pluses I took Saturday's game was the way the central defence handled Ipswich. Their style of play will, I think, be typical of what we will see more often than not in the Championship and in that respect alone it was pleasing. They were more solid than we have come to expect and maybe with one or two additions will go on to form a really solid rock on which we can build success. Looking forward to the Bournemouth game - if we play to our strengths and perform as we did in the two previous home games we should win (but knowing football, is that famous last words?!!)

  • Colin - I'm not sure O'Neil is so far down the pecking order. He's lacking match fitness at the mo but I expect he'll displace one of Tettey or Johnson at some point. As for Vadiss (as we'll surely have to call him), I'll be delighted if he signs - could be an upgrade on Fer really. I'm trying not to get my hopes up though. The Falkirk kid would surely be one for the future - not sure he'd be anywhere near the first team for now. So if surs goes, and Vadiss comes in, I think we're still covered well in midfield.

  • All three of those would be perfect! Can't see Surman staying if we sign two further central midfielders in Odjijda-Ofoe and McGrandles. He's already behind Howson, Hoolahan, Johnson and Tettey, and presumably on a par with O'Neil.

  • What did I do, nmtd?? Have you been ethered, perchance? It happens to everyone at some stage. We are all equal in that respect, but some are more equal than others. As you say, it seems that Neil has fitted in to Machianalli`s grand plan and is getting on with the job of leading the football side of things. Which is pretty important at a football club, whatever the marketing smoothies believe. A bit like bakers in bakeries, or doctors in the Health Service. SurreyCan, many Carra regulars believe Surs is heading for Bournemouth. It does add up. I just wonder whether there`s a bit of time-biding going on. The Cherries may be willing to wait and get Andrew on a freebie? Surs is a very decent player. I would guess he`s leaving, sometime.
