Robert Snodgrass wants Norwich City to use their festive fixtures to start looking up the Premier League table, rather than down at the trap door.
The Canaries host Fulham on Boxing Day (3pm) with the visitors 19th and embroiled in a relegation scrap that new boss Rene Meulensteen will be eager to get his team out of as quickly as possible.
Meanwhile, a three-game unbeaten run for Norwich has seen them earn a useful cushion to the top-flight’s bottom three – and Snodgrass wants further progression to be the aim from here on in.
“I don’t think we can start looking back; we don’t want to look behind us,” said Snodgrass, with City lying 14th in the table. “I think with the players we’ve got in the squad and the belief, we need to look forward.
“It sounds silly maybe because we need to score the goals but you need to keep believing and looking forward.
“These fans are so passionate. They will you on with every kick and they were the same again at Sunderland.
“They were different class and I just think if they stick with us then we can look forward.
“We don’t need that little bit of extra pressure to be looking over our shoulder. We need to be looking forward, and add that different pressure. The one that comes with belief. And we’ve got the players to go and do it.
“We’ve got two home games now that we can definitely win.”
