  • Some timely comments Dark Moon, totally agree with you. Stew, you seem unwillingly to let the facts get in the way of a full-on diatribe. As a player CH played 398 games for Tottenham, scoring 19 goals (from full-back). FA Cup winners medals in both 1981 and 82, 1981 Charity Shield winner, 1984 UEFA Cup winner. First black player to turn out for the Republic, winning 53 caps and playing in all games in Euro 88. Followed that with ten years as assistant manager at Tottenham and two years as assistant with the Republic. As a manager, won the Championship with Newcastle and then last year took a moderate Birmingham side (look where they are now) into the Championship play-offs and the knock-out rounds of the Europa Cup. That to me looks like a decent set of qulaifications to manage City, certainly better than mine, because all I can say about myself football-wise is that I played a few times for Yarmouth Grammar School's reserve team in the late 50s (scoring 3 goals from the right side of midfield). How about you?
