I want to complain about this content:

  • Agree with the posts about Hooper. He looked out of his depth against a good defence. The "tactic" of standing on the keeper's toes is something that will always cause trouble in European competitions because that is not the way the game is played or interpreted across the Continent. I watch Malaga every other week and we never see keepers being harrassed like that. If it was done the refs here would inevitably award a free kick. It was fundamentally niaive for Celtic to employ that "tactic" when you have a Continental ref. I thought that lesson would have been learnt years ago! Overall, though, last night seemed to show that Hooper wasn't worth all that effort and we would have been better employed looking, like Newcastle, Swansea etc, overseas for better, quicker and more mobile players and at sensible money. But as it is, we have to go with what we have and get the best out of every player. Which clearly is not happening because of the way Hughton sets the team up. We have scored only 26 goals this season - under one a game - which just isn't enough.
