Fer was inches from a debut day goal inside the opening minutes with a header that dropped wide.

He was also the one to drift deeper to facilitate Johan Elmander’s arrival in the second period.

  • So Sharky...you want us to create more chances to win games by removing anyone who shows any creativity and selfishness? Interesting. Hughton may take you on his team.

  • I'm afraid I don't agree with the Redmond vote here. He must learn to play for the team and not himself. When he does that he will be a terrific player. Nathan, please listen to your manager.

  • Sharky has a point JimBob, especially in the 2nd half. We were in a position where we should have been playing the ball around and keeping possession thus wearing down the 10 men. It just seemed that every time Redmond got the ball it was head down, run at the defence then blast it over the bar. Judging by the groans in the pub I was watching the game in I'm not the only one who came to that conclusion.
