Player ratings for both Norwich City and Stoke City following their Premier League clash.
• Norwich City
7 John Ruddy: Fine stop to beat away Jon Walters second half hit. Masterful command of his penalty area throughout.
7 Steven Whittaker: You get the sense he is one of those ultra consistent performers. Switched flanks and equally effective.
6 Michael Turner: Relished Stoke’s more direct weaponry until forced off with injury.
7 Sebastien Bassong: One or two pieces of sloppiness in the opening exchanges but a class, calming influence.
6 Javier Garrido: Guarantees quality on the ball. Teed up Anthony Pilkington for a great Robert Snodgrass chance.
7 Alex Tettey: Bossed the early midfield skirmishes. Says defensive midfielder on the tin, but also gets forward at will.
7 Bradley Johnson: Executed a stunning back header for the goal. Influence grew as game progressed.
7 Robert Snodgrass: Useful outlet first half. Great delivery for the goal after cutting across Andy Wilkinson. Defensively sound.
7 Wes Hoolahan: Playing with so much zest and freedom. Set up Anthony Pilkington with a great chance. Audacious lob.
6 Anthony Pilkington: Drilled against Asmir Begovic first half. Skied over second. Excellent cut back for Robert Snodgrass in first period.
6 Grant Holt: Well-policed by Robert Huth and Ryan Shawcross but still offered a serious target to Stoke on the counter.
Subs: Ryan Bennett (for Turner) 6, Leon Barnett (for Garrido) 7, Steve Morison (for Hoolahan) 6
• Stoke City
6 Asmer Begovic: Excellent first half stop to kick away Anthony Pilkington’s close range hit.
6 Geoff Cameron: Provided a good option when Stoke did press, especially in the first half. Good delivery from wide areas.
6 Ryan Shawcross: Nominally the more refined of Stoke’s centre backs. Steady shift. Less comfortable facing city’s mobile threats.
6 Robert Huth: Made his intentions clear with an early thumping clearance after outmuscling Grant Holt. No-nonsense.
5 Andy Wilkinson: Paid a heavy price for poor positional play on the Robert Snodgrass free-kick incident. Little sympathy as a result.
5 Steven N’Zonzi: Impressive athlete. Poor concentration to lose Bradley Johnson for the match-winning header.
5 Dean Whitehead: Gets around the park well but Stoke’s direct style hinders his attacking threat.
5 Jon Walters: Early audition for the pantomime season. Tested John Ruddy once but also balloned into the Barclay.
7 Charlie Adam: Dropped to the canvas quicker than Audley Harrison but a quality operator; wayward late shot aside.
5 Michael Kightly: Best moment was a clever back heel for charlie Adam. Not the potent menace of his Wolves days on this display.
7 Peter Crouch: Predictably the focal point of Stoke’s attacking endeavours. Nothing really dropped, but commendable work rate.
Subs: Matthew Etherington (for Kightly) 5, Kenwyne Jones (for Walters) 6, Glenn Whelan (for Wilkinson) 5
A magnificent solo goal by midfielder Jonny Howson clinched a notable victory for Norwich City as they wrapped up their season by beating Premier League runners-up Manchester City on their own ground.
