Player ratings for both Norwich City and Cardiff City following their Premier League clash.
• Norwich City:
7 John Ruddy: Top drawer save to deny Jordon Mutch. No less secure against Kim before half-time.
6 Russell Martin: Glanced one header over. Sliced another shot wide late on. Couple of errant passes.
6 Michael Turner: Largely kept a tight rein on Fraizer Campbell, apart from one first half escape.
6 Sebastien Bassong: Watchful shift from the captain with Norwich dominant for long spells.
7 Martin Olsson: Cardiff’s changes nullified his potent attacking threat. Productive early supply line.
6 Alex Tettey: Let the dangerous Mutch get the wrong side for Cardiff’s best chance of the game.
7 Robert Snodgrass: Most of City’s best early work had the Scot at source. Still not enough in certain quarters.
7 Leroy Fer: Powerhouse. One cleared off the line, one header blocked, one ‘goal’ sparked mayhem.
7 Jonny Howson: Found David Marshall in defiant mood. Integral figure in City’s midfield these days.
7 Anthony Pilkington: Vital touch from Marshall denied the midfielder a late breakthrough.
7 Gary Hooper: Fractions from a goal with a glancing header. Teed up Anthony Pilkington chance.
Subs: Nathan Redmond (for Pilkington) 7, Ricky van Wolfswinkel (for Jonny Howson) 5, Johan Elmander (for Hooper) 6
• Cardiff City:
8 David Marshall: Finished with a back catalogue of saves. Pick from Jonny Howson twice in the first half.
5 Kevin Theophile-Catherine: Failed to find the answers to subdue the marauding Nathan Redmond in the final quarter.
7 Steven Caulker: Classy operator. Aerially dominant. comfortable on the floor. Good headed opening.
7 Ben Turner: One or two aberrations, but grew in influence. Cut from same cloth as Michael Turner.
5 Andrew Taylor: Difficult shift with Robert Snodgrass raiding at will in that opening period.
7 Jordon Mutch: Should have left John Ruddy no chance from close range in the first period. Rangy athlete.
6 Gary Medel: Solid, effective presence aided by the arrivals of Don Cowie and Aaron Gunnarsson.
5 Peter Odemwingie: Best moment was to trigger the Jordon Mutch move. Too often left chasing Martin Olsson.
6 Kim Bo-Kyung: Denied by Ruddy on a rapier counter. Sacrificed in a half-time cull.
6 Peter Whittingham: Se-piece threat was fitful but prevented a certain goal when he hacked clear from Leroy Fer.
6 Fraizer Campbell: Slightly fortunate to escape censure for the foul on Alex Tettey prior to late drama.
Subs: Don Cowie (for Odemwingie) 6, Aaron Gunnarsson (for Kim Bo-Kyung) 6, Craig Bellamy (for Medel) 5
Chris Hughton admitted Norwich’s soft centre again contributed to their downfall as Luis Suarez inspired Liverpool to a 5-1 Premier League win on Wednesday night at Anfield.
