Former loan goalkeeper Lee Camp is reportedly set to join Norwich City again.

Norwich are set to beat local rivals Ipswich Town to the signing of goalkeeper Lee Camp on a free transfer.
Sky Sports reported on Monday morning the 28-year-old is poised to undergo a medical with the Canaries later today after agreeing an initial short-term deal at Carrow Road until the end of the current season.
Camp spent last week negotiating a pay-off for the final six months of his contract at Nottingham Forest after Alex McLeish decided he was surplus to requirements at the City Ground.
Chris Hughton has identified Camp as experienced cover for Mark Bunn in the absence of injured first choice John Ruddy. Hughton revealed last week he would be keen to let Declan Rudd out on loan to further his education, if he opted to bring in fresh back-up.
Northern Ireland international Camp was named in the Championship team of the year for 2009/10 and Forest rejected a £1.5m bid from Swansea City last summer.
Camp has played for the Canaries before - on a three-month loan from Derby County at the end of 2006 making three appearances and unfortunately scoring an own goal in a 2–1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
Most upset at the move might well be Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy, who had been hoping to sign the former Derby and Queens Park Rangers stopper as the Blues battle for survival.
“It was touch and go with regards coming to Ipswich,” said a source close to Camp.
“Mick McCarthy was absolutely brilliant when Lee spoke to him, but in the end Norwich came in and the chance to go to the Premier League was too good an opportunity to turn down.”
Chris Hughton will urge his players to turn on the style at dethroned champions Manchester City.

This story is over a day old now. Wouldn't Camp have signed by now if he was coming here. Having said that, it may depend on whether Declan Rudd goes out on loan at same time Camp comes in. John Ruddy is the only city player who would get into any other team in the Premier League.

I hateto second guess managers, but this seems crazy even if it's a free. Looking at big picture, it looks like March is the make-or-break month with fixtures against Southampton (h), Sunderland (a), and Wigan (h). A minimum of 5 points needed plus points from QPR in Feb. and from Swansea (h) and Reading (h) in April should see us safe before we "welcome" back PL in May. Please, don't leave it until the last game of the season, Man City (a)! But then, who knows?

Most of the clubs in trouble below us have made or are making significant, quality signings. Even Newcastle! I think QPR will escape relegation. Their last signing was exactly the quality of front man we should be looking for. If we fail to sign at least one proven goalscorer we will continue to struggle and could well go down. Incidentally, interesting that Pilks and Hoolahan are good enough to join the Ireland squad...but both sat warming the bench for us at Liverpool. What does that tell us?

NCFC is becoming a goalkeeper training school, but if all these Keepers are to get good training in, then they could do with some good strikers to take shots at them! We must also learn to sell players, what use is just letting them go, our wages are low so we don't have massive gain by off loading.

Great decision from the NCFC staff, we traditionally have someone in that error-prone wage clogger role and we never disappoint. Surely by making micky mouse signings like this the feeling of our stature reciprocates to potential buys. Teams like Sunderland, Newcastle etc all buying pretty big, and there's us, signing Lee Camp. Surely the players we want to sign are going to be looking at the biggestmost advancing club, this does not do us justice.

Signing another keeper is like looking through the wrong end of the telescope! It has been blindingly obvious that our focus must be for a proven goalscorer. Apart from anything else, this is a PR blunder because it flies in the face of fact and logic. It is like a train with no driver being given another ticket collector. I remember coming away from the two main pre-season games saying to a friend that it is obvious we lack the ability to score goals. Since then little has happened to change my mind. But over and above all this is my sense that the team no longer seems to be prepared to roll up its sleeves and battle in the way it used to do and in the manner that was the hallmark of our success over the past few seasons. We don't have the best players by a long shot. But we used to win games through determination, team spirit and total commitment from the first until the final minute. Where has that gone?

Phew thank goodness for that, especially after he was showing casing his 'skills' with a recent howler for Forest at Portman Road. I would have thought a striker was high on Hughton's priority list after Hooper's snub. Holt is certainly showing his lack of mobility and it appears he has been worked out by referees and the opposition this season. As for Morrison, it seems his star has also faded with Hughton not fancing him at all.

Bunn is a good shot stopper but doesn't have the same presence as Ruddy coming for crosses etc, that's because he's not the same physical build as 'Big John'. I don't think signing Lee Camp will help this issue. That said Bunn was not at fault for any of the goals on Saturday, the team did not compete from minute 1.

I dont believe it. You could not make this up. Declan Rudd would have been a great keeper for City. Hoots and co are keen on him getting experience, then play him best experience you can get. Declan is not a young boy now, he's now of an age when he should be playing .Didn't Hoots have a young keeper at his last club who just may be on the verge of a multi million move to a premier team. If the lad is good enough play him. Would those 'kids' at Liverpool have been played if they were at NCFC, I would like to think so but we do seem reluctant to play the youngsters.

Looking back at various posts Hughton seems damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. At the start of the season "why are we signing a keeper, we've got Ruddy". Bunn saves penalty against Spurs "good old Bunny" last few weeks, "Bunn must go", now we're getting "why are we signing a keeper" or even "bring back Forster". I'm absolutely sure that Celtic would be delighted to let Forster go at a time and price that suited NCFC!

The focus here should be about supporting Jed and Dec. They're great young prospects that really do need quality game time - so lets get them loaned out. Bringing in Lee Camp makes perfect sense as cover or competition for Bunn. We've all read that Ruddy's injury was very nasty and if we get to see him back in the side before the end of the season then that's a bonus. In the meantime we need to support our good prospects and get them loaned out to places where they can thrive and develop. No one will be looking to sign Ruddy with the injury he has at the moment, certainly not in this window. Now for goodness sake can we start looking at strengthening the places that really do need attention. Also, Chris can you stop talking about how good our competitors are and instil some confidence in our team that they can not only hope to possibly get a draw in games but can beat teams - home and away. We're a team that used to concern others with our attacking flair, now all we seem to be is a team consumed with concern with what others might do to us.

I agree that yes, we've made bids (or perhaps they were enquiries in all reality) for strikers, but this seems like the only deal that has so far been given the possible green light to go ahead. I worry because it seems that our signing of a striker is dwindling with each January day that passes. I agree with VictorM; Holt may be bullying defences and such, but he is proving to be incredibly slow out of the starting gate. He has been nowhere near as sharp as he was last season. I think that fans are allowed to be 'concerned' just as much as they are allowed to be wildly optimistic!

Sarcastic, moi? Satirical maybe. My instincts tell me that there is some bumbling about going on here. We finished last season with one of the top 3 English `keepers and two of the most promising `young` ones. (When do we stop calling Dec "young"?). We have the England GK coach. Seemingly weird signing of Bunn "comes good" when Ruddy is injured. Loan spells for Jed & Dec fail to materialise, their career prospects stall. Now we`re after another slightly short keeper with Bewilderwood connections (however tenuous). And a strike force as sharp as the back of a spoon.
