Norwich City’s Simon Lappin saw red at the start of his loan spell at Cardiff City when he was sent off one minute from time in the 2-1 win at Barnsley that took the Bluebirds top of the Championship.
Lappin, who is on loan to Malky Mackay’s team until January 1, played at left-back on his debut but was dismissed after receiving a second yellow card for a foul on Reuben Noble-Lazarus. He had been booked for unsporting behaviour in the first half.
Cardiff will be without Lappin for the trip to Derby tomorrow.
The Canaries are reportedly closing in on the signing of Blackburn’s Swedish international Martin Olsson.

I just knew he`d mark his debut in some special way. I had a small bet on him to score a rare goal. Hey ho!
