Norwich City’s summer striker signing Lewis Grabban is included in a 20-man squad for Monday’s Carrow Road homecoming friendly against OGC Nice (KO 7:45pm).

Grabban sat out both matches of City’s Italian tour last week to rest an Achilles concern, but the 26-year-old trained with the squad on their return to England on Sunday and is now in the mix for Neil Adams’ squad.

Jonny Howson will miss both home friendlies this week, with Celta Vigo visiting Carrow Road on Friday, after picking up a knee injury in Friday’s 1-1 draw with SC Bastia in Sallanches.

Gary Hooper is another who will not feature against OGC Nice as a precaution with Kyle Lafferty (shin), Ricky van Wolfswinkel (knee) and Alex Tettey (groin) all absent. Adams has drafted in youngsters Reece Hall-Johnson, Carlton Morris and Repbulic of Ireland youth international Kyle Callan-McFadden will also be included if he passes a late fitness test.

Supporters are advised to purchase tickets in advance, with the Carrow Road ticket office and Jarrold Stand turnstiles 52-57 (cash buyers only) open until kick-off at 7.45pm.

Tickets for the game are priced at £15 for adults, £10 over-65s, £5 under-17s and £1 for under-12s. The upper tiers at Carrow Road and the Barclays Stand Lower will not be open.

• Norwich City’s 20-man squad: John Ruddy (GK), Steven Whittaker, Bradley Johnson, Russell Martin (c), Michael Turner, Lewis Grabban, Anthony Pilkington, Wes Hoolahan, Jamar Loza, Elliott Bennett, Javier Garrido, Josh Murphy, Nathan Redmond, Ryan Bennett, Jacob Murphy, Declan Rudd (GK), Andrew Surman, Kyle Callan-McFadden, Reece Hall-Johnson, Carlton Morris.

  • RVW has a hurty knee and a note from his Mum? Why do we attract light weights to this Club? Grant Holt would hop onto the pitch with a limb missing for the chance to play as would have Duncan Forbes. I do get a little frustrated with some "professionals" who appear so often on the injured and treatment list. Last year RVW had a"hurty toe" and another note from his Mum. Man up!

  • Where is Olsson? Ask Machianalli. Perhaps the player has had that long-overdue shoulder op now the season is almost upon us. Or Southampton are spending a bit of their exodus bonanza? Or `Arry has swapped him for Karl Henry`s mum?

  • One thing we learned from our last Chumpionship outing is that the teams who get promoted, are the ones who can keep their players fit + injury-free for most of the season, as much as the ones with the most talented players.

  • Neither Bunn nor Bassong are there either. I think Fer is rested because of FIFA rules as I have seen mention of another World Cup player for another team who is still rested because of those rules. Not sure if this is correct though. With regards to others not playing, if the injury is minor why risk them for a friendly? Trust NA to get it right in my view.

  • Here we go again , limping to the start of another season with half the team crocked before we start . Perhaps we'd better take our boots along , just in case ?

  • No mention of Fer - when is Leroy due back to work ? Also where is Ollson, MIA ?? It's concerning that a couple of weeks before the season starts we have three strikers 'out' in the shape of RVW, Hoops & Laffs........

  • Where is Olssen. Adams needs to explain or is this yet another example of the club taking the fans for idiots.

  • Absolutely, the Championship season will be gruesome until the end. We can't afford for play people out of position as a last option and hope they perform. 2 competent players in each position please with everyone fighting to get onto the starting XI team sheet .......... OTBC

  • It does cause problems and I'm sure quite a few of the missing players will feature on opening weekend. I'm a bit concerned Martin Olsen isn't mentioned. Have I missed something?
