Norwich City defender Elliott Ward has joined Nottingham Forest on an emergency loan.
The 27-year-old has signed for the Championship club until December 29 and will be available for Saturday’s game at Barnsley.
Forest manager Boss Sean O’Driscoll signed Ward after Daniel Ayala sustained a hamstring injury at Blackpool that could keep him out for up to three weeks.
Chairman Omar Al Hasawi said: “Once it became clear that Daniel would miss a number of games we felt it was important to add to our defensive options.
“Elliott has great experience having played in the Premier League with Norwich last season and will be a valuable addition to our squad.”
Chris Hughton insists Grant Holt remains a key player for Norwich City.

Ward is too good not to have a squad number. I imagine he`ll join Forest permanently if his loan goes OK. Good luck to him.

I don't know how many loanees are allowed for each club in the Championship, or that they may not all come from the same club. I feel sure Norwich City would oblige their desperate neighbours, with a one month loan-wages only- for possibly :- Bunn, Whitaker, Barnett, Bennett, Tierney, Fox, Howson, Surman, Morison, C.Martin, and Jackson. A ready made team. That would get them a few points on the board!
