Norwich City striker Chris Martin has joined Championship club Derby County on a 28-day emergency loan.
The Rams have brought in the 24-year-old as a replacement for Theo Robinson, who has joined fellow Championship club Huddersfield on loan until the end of the season.
Martin, making his second loan move of the season, is eligible for Derby’s game against Watford at Vicarage Road today.
Manager Nigel Clough said: “We’re pleased Chris has decided to join us and provide another option in attack.
“Initially Chris is here for a month and we’ll just take things from there.”
Martin was not included in City manager Chris Hughton’s Premier League squad of 25 for the rest of the season.
“Chris has been unfortunate. He has a wonderful finishing ability but he has just found himself not getting the games here he would like,” said Hughton earlier this month.
He made just three senior appearances for the Canaries this season before a loan spell at Swindon, where he scored once in 12 appearances, from a penalty.
The 24-year-old has scored 34 goals in 117 first team outings for City and is out of contract in the summer.
Martin’s last senior goal for the Canaries came against Derby in a 2-1 Championship victory at Pride Park in December 2010.
He spent much of last season on loan at Crystal Palace, where he scored seven times in 28 appearances.

Fair does, yarco. I have a pal in the local pub out here who follows Lowestoft`s every move, pals at the Brewery in `Stoft, too, so I take an interest in the Trawlerboys. They have several matches in hand because of postponements etc and they just COULD win the Ryman Prem? I really believe Lowestoft should be in Norfolk. And Ipswich shouldn`t exist! ;-)

Mad Brewer I mentioned Lowestoft Town because they are a far more better club than Yarmouth Town or Gorleston F.C.

yarco, ol` buddy, have you ever considered that Lowestoft should really be in Norfolk? Or are local rivalries too strong? I have some pals over there and I always get the feeling that `stoft folk are more pro-Naaridge than 1p5wich. Also, The Trawlerboys seem to find employment for ex-Canaries on a regular basis. And another thing....Green Jack Brewery beer is the Tops!

Yes, MBA, he`s had more Chances than a long game of Monopoly. goldeneadie, sadly you`re right; the Hall of Infamy Chris is headed for could be the Beccles & District LVA one! But I really hope he can grab one more opportunity to redeem his career. Worrying thing is that he`s had the benefit of working with Lambo & Cully, being mentored bt Holty & Hoolahoop and it hasn`t happened yet. What happens on April 6th, waclor? Derby playing 1p5wich??

This is it Chris. Are you going to be a hero or a zero, somebody or nobody like the rest of us? Difference is you have the talent. Do you have the intelligence to make use of that talent? Hard work now or a hard life forever, the choice is yours. I wish you luck mate.
