The national newspapers’ views on Norwich City’s 1-0 win over Stoke City at Carrow Road.
Sunday Mirror: “Smiles all round in the Canaries’ camp as they took their unbeaten run to four games, but there was anger and bemusement in the Stoke dressing room.”
The Mail on Sunday: “There were flickers of football here and there but the only fireworks came from Stoke manager Tony Pulis, unhappy about the key incident before half-time.”
The Observer: “Tony Pulis felt his Stoke side had been “kicked in the teeth” by poor refereeing decisions during this latest away defeat . . . Pulis was less than impressed.”
The Independent: “One-nil to the football team,” the Norwich City fans chanted, enjoying their side’s progress to a third consecutive home win, two weeks after breaking their Premier League duck.”
The Sunday Telegraph: “This performance did not reflect well on Stoke. They have, apparently, been trying to play more football recently. Yet their intentions were clear.”
Norwich’s second-string rounded off a great five days for the club by winning the Norfolk Senior Cup tonight.
