The national newspapers’ views on Norwich City’s 1-0 defeat at home to Luton Town.
Sunday Mirror: “Currently battling to regain their League status, Luton saved their best for the world’s greatest Cup competition and thoroughly deserved their place in the fifth round.”
The Mail on Sunday: “The FA Cup, derided by critics as a faded competition, roared defiantly back into life as non-League Luton Town dumped Premier League Norwich out.”
The Observer: “Hughton acknowledged it was another low point in a season that is beginning to go badly awry for Norwich, who are 13th in the Premier League.”
The Sunday Telegraph: “Luton’s celebrations extended from Norfolk to the West Indies, where chairman Nick Owen was delivering a motivational speech on a Caribbean cruise.”
The Independent: “The Conference side deserved it, not so much on the balance of play, but on the thoroughly professional way they went about containing Norwich.”
The Canaries are reportedly closing in on the signing of Blackburn’s Swedish international Martin Olsson.
