Lazio left-back Javier Garrido (pictured in 2007 at Manchester City with Michael Johnson) has been linked with a move to Norwich City.

Lazio’s Javier Garrido is reportedly set to sign for Norwich City on loan.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the Spanish left-back is set to move on a season-long loan with option to buy at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old previously played in the Premier League with Manchester City from 2007 to 2010 before joining Lazio where he made 21 Serie A appearances.
In the second of a three-part series dissecting the Canaries’ successful battle to retain their Premier League status, Norwich City writer Paddy Davitt examines the relationship between the artists and the artisans in Norwich’s midfield.

Brewer, I don't think that Garrido is a "Pieman" or a cab-driver, that's due to my US-English spellchecker. It seems that Garrido means elegant, handsome, or comely, consistent with my theory about a squad photogenic upgrade; van Morison beware.

Note to self: Must actually read an article and not just listen to confused colleagues (Thanks, Tony!) before commenting. City not looking to sign Luis Garrido, but looking to loan Javier Garrido. I still think it might be worth a punt on a few Honduran attackers as well though!

This is Emilio Izaguirre, Robin? As canarydownunder has reported, Wikipedia has the Garrido loan as a done deal. That doesn`t mean it`s true but I cannot see NCFC stumping up £5million + Vaughan for a full-back.

I wonder if he could also be bait to attract his Honduran compatriots Bengston and Spinoza over from the US to bolster our attack? They've both indicated they'd consider a move to the Premier League. Bengston played the one-up-front role against Brazil exceptionally well and Spinoza played into the space behind him better than anyone on the day... and at least as well as Wes has done behind Grant on a good day!

Its good to see some action on the transfer front. What about this though "Blackburn have rejected a £500,000 bid from Norwich for 27-year-old goalkeeper Mark Bunn." why do we need another keeper?????

Ref Swiss`s comment, if Garrido is a "Pieman" he`ll have to be kept away from Holty. Btw, Swiss, is that a deliberate one or is Garrido really an impish fellow who drives a horse-drawn Cab?? ;-)

On another board "The Iron" seem to have become acceptable in their official form. I wonder what the system makes of The Gunners and their manager? Btw Scrim, "die Grosskontrolleren" is a Swiss-ism! Has been generally adopted a bit like "ethering" or even "sweet-oiling". Swiss also pointed out the Stadium where England played last night is situated in a place which Ar-chant probably would censor out. Wa nkdorf. €:-)

Sad to see constructive and regular posters hounded out by ridiculous censoring policies. I'd be surprised if anyone under 18 even views this site anyhow. I think I need a l*e down...

Thanks Scrim but like others on here I had taken retirement, pi**ed off with the manner in which comments are ethered now that Archant have explained it to me, it is so stupid that you could not make it up. If you do not use "Answered" but use the past tense of reply that word has within it the three letters that mean "An untruth" therefore it is not acceptable and the comment is ethered!

This would be great competition for the nickname 'king of Spain', surely? I heard the other day Owen had signed for Everton. Stephen Davis only ever complains and criticises, no time for that. Scun thorpe Utd for the prize? I think it's hypocritical that we are unable to post that name on these boards, yet, the journo's are allowed to include it in an article title! Perfect example of this discussion boards wackness. Where's Blackdog? We need him to email this as an example to the (what does MB call them?) Grosskontollereenenenenen? OTBC

3 days before the season starts, come on. I can never, for the life of me, understand why the selling team doesn't want rid well before the season starts and the buying team doesn't want the player on board for pre season. Bad business all round.

Canary Sid. A certain Mr Owen seems to be doing the rounds at the moment looking for the best deal. Last week, on Skybet he was odds on favourite to join Stoke with the odds on Norwich shortening to 2-1. By the end of the week, Norwich had lengthened to 10-1 with Cardiff 1-4 on favourites. This week, he's odds on to join Everton - with Norwich out to 20-1. This Rhodes business interests me tho. Blackburn have long been odds on favourites to sign him but its dragging on and on. Norwich are currently offered at 16-1. With the Vaughan situation seeming still up in the air, I wonder.....

The olympics is over and a word that would seem to sum it up would be fantastic! But the week before it started the word would have been apprehension, and that's just how I'm feeling right now. Great, we're potentially looking at another defender, but he only played 11 games last season and 10 the season before that. He totalled 39 in three seasons at Man City, but only 9 in his last one. I know our defenders last season were premier novices, but we were very leaky. Right now I'd like to lose some of the apprehension I'm feeling, I'd like to feel our defence has improved, I'd like to see a defensive signing that would make me say fantastic that's real improvement. This will be a good addition. He has a lot of experience playing for top teams and against some of the worlds best players. A loan option, though as a rule I don't like loans as the loanee's are not committed to the club they are loaned to, would be a good one. If there is a buy clause then there is a possibility that CH will get him for a good price if he chooses to purchase him. I think he will do well. If there is any truth to the story, that is...

CG - 'We have to trust Hughton and I think he does know what he is doing here. We may not like some of the decisions being made, but they are being made for the success of the club.' My view exactly and whilst not in favour of losing either Ayala or Vaughan, we have to trust CH!!

Will be a good signing, and shows that our scouting network is working europe wide. These things just take time, im positive there will be some more movement soon, unfortunately I think Vaughan will be off although I think he could do wonders for us if he could keep fit.

Yes, cdu, £5million for a striker could make a lot of sense but so far the coded language from Hoots is that we have enough strikers. Then, we don`t really know what he`s thinking, do we? An exchange involving Vaughan and Rhodes maybe? He (Vaughan) is good enough to tempt them & vice-versa? Time will tell. OTBC.

Certainly more in li``le ol` Naaaridge`s price range than £5million + Pitbull for Celtic`s Emilio Izaguirre! They seem to be similar players in many respects; age, height, games played, attacking, overlapping wing-backs, comfortable on the ball etc etc. Looks a good `un. AND we keep Pitbull.
