Player ratings for both Hull City and Norwich City following their Premier League clash.
• Norwich City:
6 John Ruddy: Virtual spectator for long spells. Unfussy approach to a barrage of Hull free kicks.
6 Steven Whittaker: Had to be watchful to deal with the lively Robbie Brady. Few signs of his attacking potential.
6 Michael Turner: Sour return to his old club. Punished for illegally obstructing Yannick Sagbo.
6 Russell Martin: Kept his cool, unlike Sagbo, in the first half flashpoint that earned the Hull man a red.
6 Javier Garrido: Mixed bag. Wayward free kick in the first half and a late caution. Teasing cross for RvW.
6 Jonny Howson: Far more effective when switched back into central areas in the second period.
5 Alex Tettey: No qualms with his work-rate but more composure required at times around the box.
5 Bradley Johnson: Sacrificed at the interval with City required to try and up the ante.
6 Nathan Redmond: Tested Allan McGregor twice in the opening period. Less effective after the interval.
7 Leroy Fer: Early header inches wide. Looked to get City on the front foot before his re-deployment.
6 Ricky van Wolfswinkel: McGregor’s agility denied the Dutchman an equaliser. Fed largely on scraps.
Subs: Wes Hoolahan (for Redmond) 6, Robert Snodgrass (for Johnson) 5, Johan Elmander (for Tettey) 5
• Hull City:
8 Allan McGregor: Excellent close range reaction stop in all probability earned his side three points.
6 Ahmed Elmohamady: Bamboozled on a couple of occasions by Nathan Redmond’s trickery.
6 James Chester: Struggled at times to counter-act Ricky van Wolfswinkel’s movement.
8 Curtis Davies: Already seems to be emerging as the focal point of this side. Calming presence.
6 Maynor Figueroa: Solid and discplined. Worked well in tandem with Robbie Brady.
7 Robert Koren: Integral to Hull’s best work. Should have tested John Ruddy in the first period.
7 Jake Livermore: Injects plenty of energy into the Tigers’ midfield. Covered acres without the ball.
7 Tom Huddlestone: Looks a cut above the rest of Hull’s midfield. Good appetite for defensive work as well.
7 Robbie Brady: Cool slot for the penalty and showed plenty of ambition to shoot from distance.
6 Sone Aluko: Smart back heel for Robert Koren. Difficult to operate in that link role with 10 men.
5 Yannick Sagbo: No defence for his dismissal. Unsettled Michael Turner for the penalty concession.
Subs: George Boyd (for Brady) 6, Danny Graham (for Aluko) 5, Leroy Rosenior (for Koren) 5
