Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay has confirmed he is considering free agent Simon Lappin as a possible January signing. Lappin, released by Norwich City by mutual consent earlier this week after six years at Carrow Road, has already had one spell on loan with Cardiff this season, making two appearances for the Championship leaders.
“He is certainly someone under consideration,” said ex-Canary defender Mackay. “We are still thinking about what we are going to do in terms of defensive cover and we will make a judgment on that before the end of the month. He has been here recently and he is someone that can comfortably play in a Championship team.
“He was a smashing professional when he came here, a good boy and a good personality to have around.”
Lappin, 29, who made 126 senior appearances for the Canaries, would give Mackay additional options in defence or midfield as they seek to translate a 10-point Championship lead into promotion.
Norwich City earned £46.07m in Premier League television money for the 2012/13, according to official figures released on Tuesday morning.

Go on Malky - don`t be coy! You`ll get a top pro with top attitude and the ability to play full-back or left-midfield. Bring him back to the Prem so we can see him next season (Fingers crossed!). Also, you won`t need a translator. ;-)
