Anthony Pilkington has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad alongside Norwich City colleague Wes Hoolahan.
Giovanni Trapattoni has announced a 27-man squad to face Poland in a friendly on February 6 at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin.
Trapattoni said: “I have decided to use this friendly game as an opportunity to work with younger players to see their potential. As a result, I have given senior players like Robbie Keane and Stephen Kelly a break for this fixture.
“We saw a number of strong performances from our younger players in the second half of last year and we intend to build from those strong foundations, using this friendly match to introduce more new talent like Pilkington, Hendrick, Sammon and (Richard) Keogh.
“I look forward to working with these players, and seeing what they have to offer.”
• SQUAD:
Keiren Westwood (Sunderland), David Forde (Millwall), Stephen Henderson (West Ham United), John O’Shea (Sunderland), Ciaran Clark (Aston Villa), Darren O’Dea (Toronto), Richard Dunne (Aston Villa), Paul McShane (Hull City), Seamus Coleman (Everton), Richard Keogh (Derby County), Greg Cunningham (Bristol City), Stephen Ward (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Anthony Pilkington (Norwich City), James McClean (Sunderland), Robbie Brady (Hull City), Aiden McGeady (Spartak Moscow), Glenn Whelan (Stoke City), James McCarthy (Wigan Athletic), Jeff Hendrick (Derby County), David Meyler (Hull City), Wes Hoolahan (Norwich City), Simon Cox (Nottingham Forest), Shane Long (West Bromwich Albion), Jon Walters (Stoke City), Conor Sammon (Derby County), Andy Keogh (Millwall), Kevin Doyle (Wolverhampton Wanderers)

Spot on, MBA. C**pp*rpony must have a contrary streak. He`ll probably play Wes as lone striker and Pilks in goal. That would help City`s goalie shortage.
