Here is a look back at our archive of Norwich City v Liverpool ahead of their match Saturday 19 January at 3pm
Norwich City played at the last-ever match in front of the old Kop in April 1994 – and won 1-0. But City have only won at Anfield on a handful of occasions over the years: Terry Alcock scored a hat-trick against Liverpool in January 1962, but City still lost 4-5.
Players who have played for both clubs include Doug Livermore, Dave Fairclough and David Hodgson.
Our first match, from Division 1, was played on the 24th March 1973, with City losing 1-3 and Liverpool topping the table at season’s end. Our second match, again from Division 1, dates from 9th February 1980. This time City lost 3-5, with Liverpool again topping the table. Our third match, from the Premiership, was played on 1st May 1993 and the Canaries won 1-0, ending up third in the table to Liverpool’s sixth.
Chris Hughton insists Grant Holt remains a key player for Norwich City.
