Wroxham are through to the third round of the Norfolk Senior Cup but they were made to work hard for it by Norwich CBS at the FDC.

The Yachtsmen got their noses in front midway through the first half when Sam Pledger scored from the spot after Robbie Sweeney was fouled.

Thurlow Nunn Division One side Norwich CBS got back on level terms before the break though when Lewis Johnson drove the ball home following a goalmouth scramble.

The match appeared to hinge on Dan Barraclough’s dismissal for two bookable offences although the home side held out to extra time.

Wroxham took full advantage of the extra man and a fine finish by Sweeney made it 2-1. Connor Deeks hit the post with a free-kick but the tie was put beyond doubt when Shaun Taylor skipped past two defenders before finishing adroitly. Ben Fowkes put a gloss on the scoreline to make it 4-1 and confirm Wroxham’s place in the next round, which will be drawn on Friday on Radio Norfolk at 6.30pm.
