North West Norfolk League round-up: Riverside join six others in Norfolk Primary Cup last 16

Riverside travelled to Sporle for their Norfolk Primary Cup replay and made it seven North West Norfolk League teams through to the last 16.


Goals from Mark Demonty (2), Kane Ashwood and Dean Symonds secured a good 4-2 victory.

In the league last weekend there were 92 goals scored, with Division Two leaders Discovery Royals scoring 10 of them against Lynn Napier.

The goals came from Ryan Smith (6), Liam Bowley (2), Stephen Bush and Wes Britain.

Also in Division Two there was a big win for Smithdon Hunstanton over Denver. Amongst the goals for Smithdon was man of the match Lee Dix, who grabbed a brace.

William Burt continued their winning run with a 5-1 victory over Flitcham thanks to goals from Johnny Senter (2), Lee Woodcock, Lee Sommerton and Danny Littlewood.

In Division One, leaders Lynn North End dropped their first points of the season in 2-2 draw against Great Massingham while at the bottom, Watlington made it two wins in a row by beating West Winch 4-2 thanks to a first-half hat-trick from man of the match Dan Spalding and a fine header from Ben Smith.

Lynn Williams kept the pressure on at the top of Division Three with a convincing 4-0 win against Greyfriars. Lynn Williams opened the scoring with a sweet 20-yard shot from hat-trick hero and man of the match Steven Hornigold.

In Division Four, Tilney remain top after an outstanding team performance to see of a battling East Winch side.

Tilney’s goals coming from Liam Peart, Nathan Vice, Paul Henry, Darren Browne and a penalty from Chen.

- Ray Collings has left the North-West Norfolk Football League committee.
