North West Norfolk League round-up: Division One champions Lynn North End go nap on opening day

The new North West Norfolk League season kicked off on Saturday with Division One champions Lynn North End starting where they left off.
End, giving debuts to eight players, beat Watlington 5-1 thanks to goals from man of the match Tom Doughty, Nicky Bunting, Adam Archer, Luke Greer and Ashley Smith.
Last season’s runners-up and Norfolk Junior Cup winners Reffley Royals, now under new management, lost 2-0 at West Winch. A new-look Sedgeford outfit lost 4-3 at home to Ingoldisthorpe while Heacham beat Great Massingham 2-1.
In Division Two, newly-promoted duo Riverside and Castle Rising played out a 3-3 thriller. Rising’s goals came from Jonny Parker, Danny Clarkes and Sam Hewitt, who hit the net for the 50th time for his side.
Flitcham & Hillington were too strong for Hunstanton, winning 6-2, Discovery Royals beat William Burt 3-2 while Lynn Napier enjoyed a fine 4-1 away victory at Smithdon. Ingoldisthorpe Reserves drew 2-2 in a local derby with Dersingham Reserves which benefited from the new roll on, roll off subs’ trial.
Dan Twaite bagged a brace as Lynn Retreat celebrated their promotion to Division Three by winning 3-2 at Gaywood. Kenny Diggines scored Retreat’s other goal.
Gayton United Reserves lead the way after a stunning 8-0 victory over Heacham Reserves.
Re-formed East Winch showed what had been missing during their 40-year absence by beating Watlington Reserves 2-1 with goals from Lee Gardener and Nathan Seaman. Former Sunday League side Tilney also won their first game in Division Four by beating Snettisham Maroons 1-0.
n Former NWNL side Regate Rangers continued their fine start to life in Anglian Combination Division Six by hammering Freethorpe Reserves 7-2. Goals came from Stevie Fisher (2), Lloyd Drewery (2), Jordan Groom, Stuart Deadman and Mark Sainty.
