Norfolk's under-10 girls team were on home soil in the County Cup action at Easton Tennis Centre.

Anghela Sionosa, Charlotte James, and Matilda Cabrera-Burns were in action for Norfolk against Middlesex and Suffolk, with the other group consisting of Essex, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire.

After losing all four matches against Middlesex the girls rallied against Suffolk to win 3-1 win and secure second in their box. Day two started with a 4-0 defeat to a strong Essex in the semi-finals, which meant Norfolk would play Cambs for third place. After falling 2-0 behind Matilda won in three sets – the final set 11-9 in the match tie-break – but Charlotte and Anghela were edged out in the doubles as Cambs earned a 3-1 win.

Coach Kim Burgess said: 'The girls fought hard all weekend and learnt a lot about working and supporting each other as a team. A very positive weekend was had by all.'
